Most dead program

Well Washington has been dead long enough that no one even considers them anymore. Media is still shocked every year Nebraska is bad.
Don’t know why you turds get all defensive when people point out Nebraska is clearly the most dead of the former power programs. It’s no one here’s fault. Look inward for why they’re competing with Rutgers for some bottom spot in the conference rankings, trying to turn it around and call out a team that has at least made the playoff since it’s inception isn’t gonna solve anything.

Nebraska is clearly the 'most dead'.

But as I said, it's not because of recruiting. It's simply lack of player development and coaching.
This is the result of average 20th ranked recruiting classes.

Too much $5 Little Caesars 'Hot & Ready', Xbox, and Susie Rottencrotch in Lincoln.

Players do the bare minimums and don't put their personal time into getting better. Nutrition table, Weight room, Film room, etc..
It's prevalent in the big 3 Husker men's sports. (Football, Basketball, Baseball). Horrible 'culture'.
The women's teams (volleyball, softball, bowling) compete just fine.
Like this.

Really thought at the time the season could be special season for my boys from Kalamazoo.

And it kinda was, winning a bowl game for the second time made it a success. But that road win against your Panthers is up there in program history.
The people I know who went to G5 schools always make it sound like it might be more fun as a fan than being a P5 fan (especially at a school where football will still draw a nice crowd). Lot less pressure, sometimes things break right and you get a good bowl/conference title game appearance and the best part is you're not expected to beat the P5 teams but when you do you can enjoy ruining their day.

Maction hadn’t started yet when I was a freshman. We had big crowds on Saturdays. The current HC was our QB and other than Pennington at Marshall, he was prolly the best in the conference.

Maction came in while I was still in school. I get why it’s there, but night games late in the season really killed the vibe on campus. Kinda feel bad for the kids now that never get that experience of rivalry games on Saturday afternoon with a packed house and tons of people coming in from the opposing school.

Says it's about money, then proceeds to put up a list showing Clemson at #25 in wealth.

Clemson was #2 in total wins from 2010 - 2019. #3 by winning percentage.

#1 Alabama: 3 National Titles (Top 10 AP 10 times ) (Top 5 AP 7 times ) (Top 25 AP Unranked - Zero )
#2 Ohio St: 1 National Title (Top 10 AP 8 times ) (Top 5 AP 7 times ) (Top 25 AP Unranked 1 time)
#3 Clemson: 2 National Titles (Top 10 AP 6 times ) (Top 5 AP 5 times ) (Top 25 AP Unranked 1 time )
#4 Oklahoma: No Natties (Top 10 AP 7 times ) (Top 5 AP 4 times ) (Top 25 AP Unranked 1 time )
#5 LSU: 1 National Title (Top 10 AP 4 times) (Top 5 AP 2 times) (Top 25 AP Unranked 1 time )

Yeah "iT's MoRe aBoUt TeH mOnEy" LMAO!!
But even if you find a single exception, you're listing an exception to a generally proven rule. Your best hope is that Nebraska becomes an exception.

Why you always gotta be so disingenuous?
To get a complete picture of Clemson's 2015 CFP
season, you'd have to go back to 2011 for seniors that had redshirted, or to 2012 for true seniors.
Clemson didn't get to the CFP with freshman and sophomores.

He brought the first 10 win seasons to Clemson since 1990. The more Dabo proved he could coach them up, the higher rankings the recruiting classes got.

Clemson Recruiting Rankings

2010: 27th (6-7)
2011: 10th (10-4)
2012: 20th (11-2)
2013: 15th (11-2)
2014: 16th (10-3)
.....................................................
Average Ranking: 18th

2015: 9th (14-1) CFP Final
2016: 11th (14-1) Natty

The average of all those classes is 15.4

That's pretty far removed from Bama, Ohio St, etc..
Dabo could develop players and coached them up.
Clemson is in a totally unique situation, as they are located on the border of the single most talent rich state with only one major D1 program. What took them over the top is the ability to sign Georgia kids and especially, Georgia kids who were elite All-American type QB's in DeShaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence. They are also located right in the middle of SEC country. They are surrounded by Tennessee, NC, Alabama and Georgia, and the state of South Carolina puts out a handful of blue chip recruits themselves.

"Exception"?
Cut the mental gymnastics.

Clemson is #25 but still in the Top 3 winning programs of the last decade with 2 National championships and 6 playoff appearances in the last 8 years.

STFU with your ad nauseam BS, douchebag.

That’s what an exception is? Clemson represents an exception to the rule.

[Full disclosure: I like Nebraska a lot.]

Here's a fair question. If Nebraska is only a very good coach away from being back on top, then why hasn't a very good coach taken the job for over two decades? Wouldn't you think up and coming "very good coaches" or established "very good coaches" would be clamoring for interviews if everything else was teed up in Lincoln? Why hasn't even one "very good coach" sat down with the AD and Regents and lobbied like a SOB for the job? And no, Scott Frost isn't in that category. You never see hot coaches flying, driving or hitchhiking to Nebraska to get an interview. There are reasons for that.

Huh?

Couldn't you say the same about Texas, USC, Florida, etc?

Who are these "up and coming "very good coaches" or established "very good coaches"?

Venables?

Unless they're a Saban, Dabo, or Meyer, then they're a gamble.
The pile of G5 head coaches that made the jump to P5, and P5 coordinators that made the jump to head coaches is deep.

Solich was a coordinator
Callahan had just come off a Super Bowl
Pelini was a coordinator
Riley was hired out of a California airport by AD Eichorst. Nobody else even got an interview.
Frost was the hottest thing going at the time who'd taken a winless UCF to 6-7 his first year and 13-0 his second year with a win over Auburn in a NY6 bowl. Florida wanted him.

Where were those "up and coming "very good coaches" or established "very good coaches" flying, driving or hitchhiking to Oklahoma to get an interview"?

Oklahoma filled their stadium and won their spring game.

I guess Venables is an elite coach now. LMFAO!!

Dude, you have jumped the rails. You're a zealot. Nebraska is cold, a long way from where the talent is most often growing up and a fading memory for even older fans. End of story. It's not going to take a good coach to bring Nebraska back; it's going to take an act of God.

In order for Nebraska to rise from the dead, they need to be all in on NIL and have a coach that's willing to leverage it. I would assume Nebraska fans would be all in on embracing NIL given their passion. I have no idea if the administration is on board and I don't think Scott Frost is the right guy to leverage NIL in recruiting.

But if Nebraska's admin is all in on football and NIL and they find a coach that's willing to leverage it on the recruiting trail, Nebraska football should be relevant again. They've got too much support to be irrelevant, as long as they're keeping up with the changing landscape.

Did TrustMeIAmRight hack your account?

Either that or I triggered you with facts.

They also need to change whatever culture they've got going on in Lincoln. They just simply haven't been developing the talent they have had.
I've watched G5 teams push Nebraska around up-front (on both sides of the ball) for 15 years.

When AD Steve Pederson hired Callahan to replace Solich, the first thing he did was remove the portraits of past Nebraska greats off the walls of the football complex. They were found in a closet after Pederson was fired. Those previous greats were alienated from the program. They were not even allowed to attend team meetings or practices.
Pederson had a mental disorder and wanted to establish his own legacy at Nebraska without the shadow of previous players getting in the way.
