Who here has had Covid-19?

I've seen several people that thought they may have had it because of some bad illness they had last winter that went on to get an antibody test. All of them came up negative. I think KT on the other board had a similar experience.

Remember, back in March/April you couldn't get a test unless you were sick enough to need medical attention, and had symptoms enough to possibly be Covid. Many were also giving flu tests prior to Covid to rule that out BEFORE you could take a covid test. Even under THOSE extreme conditions, only 6-8% of the tests coming back in our state (where the above was for sure the policy) were positive.

This means the overwhelming odds are against anyone that wasn't tested as actually having had it. Last winter was a terrible cold/flu season with several strains of bad shit going around. I had something bad in January, but I'd bet it wasn't Covid.

An ex-GF of mine had it (she's a nurse so yeah) and of course people at the hospital I work for have had it, and at least one died from it. I do not have any close family or friends that have had it.
I get it, but I have not had a cold in 40 years+

A couple of friends from HS had it but didn't get it too bad. A friend from college had it but he was asymptomatic-he teaches at a university that had all of their professors test for it and he had no idea until the test came back positive. At my place of employment I heard our former intern had it and although it wasn't a serious case, he got really sick from it. I have an estranged uncle who was hospitalized. I haven't spoken to him in years so I'm assuming he recovered but don't know for sure. A teacher from HS had it and from the sound of things should have been hospitalized but told her husband not to take her in because she would rather die at home and not alone (this was back in March).

Locally, our former fire chief had it. His dad got it too and didn't make it, but he was in his 90's and at that age it's a really tough beat.

I'm betting we had it. FWIW, my wife is a nurse at the hospital and she got sick first.

My daughter has it now at Ole Miss. Low grade fever sore throat no taste yadda yadda. Laid around her apartment all weekend.

Girl I went to school with got it, apparently. Fever, shortness of breath (not enough to be hospitalized), and was tired. She said her lungs don't feel back to normal yet.
