He got a fattened up contract after the NC. Shit like that doesn't matter these days.
2019 Championship
2020 Doesn't really count ... except for Michigan ... we wimped out
2021 A mediocre season

No reason to let him go, gotta give him another year.

I mean, it’s not like he’s the coach who called a pass play to “burn some clock” with the best running back in the game from the one yard line in the Super Bowl.
He has to throw on one down in the series, and 2nd down was the time to do it to keep the defense guessing in the potential subsequent downs. I know y’all lack in logic, but get that straight.

But throwing the ball does not burn the clock like he claimed the purpose of the pass was for, not to keep the defense guessing. It would have either been a touchdown (stops the clock) or an incomplete (stops the clock).

I never heard that claim. So you repeating it is unimpressive.
with the time left and timeout situation, Pete had to throw on one down, and if he wanted to keep the defense from knowing his next move, it had to be one particular down, and that’s 2nd down.
all these people saying it was a dumb move are dunces. It was the right move.
Now, tangentially, I’d have rolled out my mobile QB and done a run-pass option with instructions to throw out the back of the end zone in case of emergency, but even then, that brings in the possibility of a holding call or whatever.
So, conclusion, what Pete did was the right move.

The truly unforgivable move in nfl history is the Falcons not kneeling the ball three times from 1st down at the Pat’s 22 with an 8 point lead, then kicking a fg which would put the game out of reach, and thus losing their city’s first SB trophy.

If im LSU

Joe Brady
Matt Campbell

If neither of them work out

Kendal Briles

I would look really hard at Dave Aranda. He's been a surprise in Waco.. if not..

Hear me out..

Gundy

Urban Meyer

I heard rumors he has a shack in Baton Rouge, the blonde from the bar is staying there for now but she is waiting until he moves in and becomes the next LSU head coach. Coach O is not going to go out quietly though, they might need a team of security guards to drag his fat ass out.
