Who will win Heisman

Robinson had a higher YPC and same amount of TDs. It's obvious Robinson was the better RB.

Bijan is more talented, but Corum being the leading rusher, on a top 2 team, if one were to get invited for the ceremony, it would have been Corum. Plus, he probably missed out on adding about 250 yards rushing to his totals, since he missed the osu and B1GCG. Which if you add that to his total, he's over 1,700 yards rushing.

He won't win it because he won't have the ridiculous numbers that guys like Caleb Williams, Drake Maye and insert OSU QB will, because he won't have too, and because that isn't their offense. I do think he's a good QB though. He's probably a round 1-3 draft pick IMO. Guys like Maye and Williams are aided by their teams defenses being garbage(along with them being great). But Michigan blew out everyone last year, except Illinois, and I can see them doing it again this year, with the exception of PSU and OSU.
I think even as pro prospects, you aren't going to end up seeing JJ on that top level of prospects, or even the second level. Watching the OSU game, for example, he had the 3 TD passes and was absolute shit other than those 3 plays, and 2 of them were TDs because of the WR and not because of anything he did. He was terrible against Illinois and Penn State, and definitely didn't look great against TCU. I don't necessarily blame him, it's just playing for Harbaugh isn't going to do any favors for any QB, which is ironic.

I don't think being a top 2 team really matters that much for supporting offensive weapons like it does for QBs. Also, Bijan faced a much tougher schedule than Corum, and he also added over 300 yards as a receiver while Corum only added 80. End of the day, it's likely Robinson would've had more total yards, a better YPA, and maybe only 1-2 fewer touchdowns, and Robinson was only 9th in the voting.

He's definitely behind Williams and Maye as pro prospects. I'm not really that high on the other QB's in the mix(Penix, Nix, and Ewers). I do think JJ could be the 3rd QB off the board. He has room to grow as a QB, he only has started like 13 games I think. And he's only 20. Penix and Nix are already 23. He has traits the NFL is looking for, he's mobile, has a good arm all that.

His age definitely will help, though I'm sure there are some guys who will come out of nowhere to be drafted highly like every year. That said, he has a long way to go before you could look at him and think "NFL starter". He's nowhere near as polished of a passer as many of the other draft-eligible QBs, and while he does have decent size and mobility, he's not close to elite in either of those 2 areas, nor does he have a great arm. Maybe he turns the corner this year but he left a lot of meat on the bone last year. Think about this: he was statistically almost identical to Drew Pyne, and that dude's going nowhere.

I think being on a contending team, is a huge factor. Robinson finished that low because Texas sucked ass. He was a stud all year. I do think Corum gets invited to NYC if he doesn't get hurt. If he has what Edwards had against OSU and Purdue that's 400 more yards. Obviously, he wouldn't have gotten that many because he wouldn't have gotten as many carries as Edwards did, but he was pretty much a lock to get invited prior to his injury IMO.

The number of carries didn't do anything for Edwards. He wasn't doing anything at all the entire day until late in the 4th when he reeled off those 2 good runs. He was like JJ that day: played like total dogshit for almost the entire day but had a couple of really great plays against our defense that was vulnerable to big plays that completely saved their days. Maybe Corum steals those big runs from Donovan, can't be sure, but if he played like Donovan that day, it wouldn't have helped his chances unless he got free on a play or 2.

Yeah, he's not ready now, but last year was his first year starting. Penix already had 4 years of playing under his belt and Nix had 3. That is a huge advantage for them. I just think he has a lot of potential. Also, his stats aren't going to blow you away because of the offense. If he was in the OSU, USC, UNC system he would have prolific numbers. Harbaugh isn't really doing him any favors in that regard, but he probably doesn't care because they are boat racing people now doing it the way they are.

This is quite the assumption and I'm not sure I'd agree based on what we saw last year. Like I said, qualitatively he was Drew Pyne and that guy sucks. It's also not like he had drastically fewer attempts than Stroud, he had 322 and Stroud had 389, yet Stroud's numbers were exponentially better. I'm just not sure JJ is that guy. Plus, Harbaugh has been there for almost a decade now and still hasn't put any QBs into the pros.

He'd also be throwing to all those better WR's than what he's had at Michigan. I'm not saying he would put up those exact numbers, but his would be much better than they are now. He also played an extra game. If OSU beats Michigan, that's probably a 100 attempt difference, which is pretty significant. I'm pretty high on him, we'll just have to see how it plays out, but I'd put him as the 3rd best QB for next season.

Eh, he only threw the ball 17 times against Purdue. Otherwise, had they lost to OSU they still would've played their bowl game (which may have ended up being against UGA as the #4 team, which would not have been good for his numbers). Purdue had a bad pass defense, and TCU's was even worse, and he didn't look great against either team.

Also, michigan has plenty of 4* WRs on their roster, with a 5* QB and two blue chip RBs. From a qualitative standpoint, JJ should be much better, and he's certainly not the 3rd best QB in college football by any metric.

I'm projecting ahead about him being the 3rd best QB. He's also raw and inexperienced. Just look at the other QB who are up there. Most of them would be gone if not for the covid year(Penix, Nix, Hartman, Travis, Mordecai) and I'm sure there are others. Again, he's not gonna put up great numbers, but it's terms of passer rating/QBR, I think he'll be right up there.

And yeah, they have 4 star WR's, but Stroud, Williams and Maye are throwing to NFL guys. That certainly helps.

If he wasn't a former 5* QB, would you be saying that? His numbers were very pedestrian, so I'm not sure where it's coming from.

Also, I know OSU recruits WRs these days better than anyone, but USC and UNC? Definitely no better than michigan. They have to have no less than five 4* WRs on their roster going into this season, and almost certainly more. Plus they have a better OL than USC or UNC.

He is a former 5* because he has those traits. He's going to have to take a leap for me to be correct, I just think he has that type of talent.

USC had Addison last year. UNC had Downs and another guy get drafted. Their WR units were definitely better than Michigan's was. And yeah, I would agree, they have a better Oline, which is why they run it so much, which affects JJ's overall numbers. Like I said, we'll see what happens, I think he's due for a huge year.

with the new clock rules.. possessions will be shorter.. Still favors QBs

Bijan is more talented, but Corum being the leading rusher, on a top 2 team, if one were to get invited for the ceremony, it would have been Corum. And he missed the 2nd half of the Illinois game after having over 100 yards in the 1st half.

Texas may have played a tougher schedule than Michigan, but Michigan played tougher defenses. Corum played against three of the top 10 defenses per SP+ (Illinois (18 carries, 108 yards, 1 TD in one half before leaving from injury), Iowa (29 carries, 133 yards, 1 TD), Penn State (28 carries, 166 yards, 2 TD). Bijan played against two, Alabama (57 yards on 21 carries, 1 TD) and Iowa State (28 carries, 135 yards).

Not really sure there was a better RB last year when you consider that. Both RBs get a lot of yards after contact too.

But hey, every Michigan player sucks. Must suck to lose two in a row to a team full of scrubs who were "absolute shit" outside of a few plays.

lol Bijan shits on Corum.. Bijan literally did a scorpion and bounced back.. Corum had a boo boo and missed the rest of the season.. soft

Corum had to get surgery.

Bruh. You root for the school that had to get the NCAA to enforce taunting penalties for players doing the "horns down" gesture. LOL @ calling anything soft.

lol you really think we started that..??

Here is where it started..I timestamped it..Mike Davis in Lubbock did the Guns down after catching a bomb for a TD.

Refs called an unsportsmanlike penalty on him for doing so..which Mack got angry because Tech players were doing Horns down and they got no penalty.

This was the reason why the refs began flagging it.

Also, Corum is fragile..he ain't built like Bijan.. which is why Bijan broke the record for most missed tackles forced and most yards gained after 2nd contact.
