If it is between Argentina and Brazil, I root against Brazil more with that whiny flopper Neymar. Add France into the mix too with whiny crybaby Mbappe now.

I don't remember Poland ever being impressive offensively. Maybe I'm completely misremembering some run they had in the past, but I always thought they just sorta parked the bus and prayed Lewandowski would snag a goal or 2.

This is my memory as well. I’ve always felt they are failing having Lewandowski because they just have not been able to cultivate players to surround and support him.

He's not as divisive as Ronaldo, but there are plenty out there that are tired of Messi. Comes with the territory i guess. He's not bad; his army of fanboys are. So i root against him simply so they will go away.

This. It's died down some , but the Messi and Ronaldo fanboys have been unbearable for years.

Both will go down as two of the greatest ever, and I'm glad I got to see them play, but I'll be glad when they both retire.

Anyways, Lewandowski another choke in a big game. Us Bayern fans saw that in big UCL games and now Barcelona seeing it too. Never missed an International penalty until today. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH :facepalm:

I believe Poland was ranked #5 in FIFA before 2018 World Cup but flamed out there in Group Stage and haven't been the same since.

The commentators said Poland hasn't scored from open play in the WC for 20 years. I gave it a quick google and the last time Poland scored more than 3 goals in group play was 1982

They did mention their last 5 WC goals were set pieces. 2018 they lost to Columbia and Senegal (Mane?) and beat Japan. The announcers also mentioned that they had a Golden Boot winner in 1974 which is a bit surprising since Muller and Cruyff were at their peak then. Made the sem-finals then and some other year later on. The announcers also bashed them saying they have talent but their coach does not coach to use the talent wisely. He is new. I think he started in WC playoffs in the Spring.

They haven't really been relevant since 1982. A little surprising, actually.
