World Cup Qualifying

USA Roster named. Pretty heavy with MLS players. Is that a good thing since they have been off a while? Maybe one or two too many. Why four goaltenders? I am surprised no Joe Scally on defense and Prefok has 11 goals for Young Boys on roster. 7 points or better or I am disappointed. El Salvador and Honduras in cold USA locations must win. Loss or tie unacceptable. Canada on the road with no Alphonso Davies (COVID complications) then I expect a tie. Only USA players not available are Busio (COVID) and Reyna (hamstring still). Other than that, full roster.
I’d say if any times the time to do it then it’s now, 6 points is MINIMUM with the bottom 2 in the table visiting while I expect nothing in 5 degrees Canada. Is the game in Minnesota indoor or out?

Need 7 or I'm smelling disaster
You are right, because the last 3 games includes road games in Mexico and Costa Rica. So 3 points in those games may only be expected.

Everything outdoors. I saw a weather report for these games: cold and light snow in Columbus in first game, Hamilton clear and cold, Mineapolis cold and 90% chance of snow. Could have another snow game like the one in Colorado a few years ago. A snowy feild could backfire, but supposedly the fields are heated.

Zack Steffen out for USA. Fine with me.

First time in 3 years Pulisic, McKennie, Adams playing together.
First time ever Pulisic, McKennie, Adams, Dest playing together.

That is how fragile physically and mentally (McKennie that's you) this team has been.

No Pepi in starting lineup. Jesus Ferreira starting as the #9.

Lineup is Turner, Dest, Zimmerman, Richards, Robinson, Musah, Adams, McKennie, Pulisic, Weah, Ferreira.

USA looks like hot garbage so far! Giveaways, poor crosses, what else can you say. Not good at all.

What are we doing?

Jamaicaup 1-0. About 15 to go

Mexico wins. USA sloppy but got 3 points. Canada leading. If these results hold, not much changes. Need a Panama loss.

You take the 3 but we're lucky to get it. Typical slow, rigid US start. They are never prepared well. Not really doing much of anything. I see some people complaining about Pulisic overdribbling and losing the ball, but I can understand his frustration. No one is doing anything and he's like "fuck it. I'm gonna try to make something happen". Then we get a goal to start the 2nd half and the team basically just quits. Gregg foolishly pulled Pulisic too soon and later Weah. No real attacks ever form and the lines are a jumbled mess all 2nd half. Any other team other than El Salvador probably puts a goal or more on the board the way we were playing

Agree also. The only goal was kind of a frantic play after a shot save but not really much else. I thought Pulisic was pretty bad and pulled first but the midfield was the worst: Adams, McKennie, Musah just giving the ball away too easy. Weah got free a lot but no passes. Crosses too low. Bad corners (Pulisic one of worst) . I though Ferreira was pretty good if he could finish. He had 4 chances most in a USA Qualifying game this term. Defense was pretty solid but that was too be expected against a bad team like this. Berhalter brings in Morris and Zhardis. Was that just a nudge to MSL with Zhardis local to Columbus and Morris comming back from ACL or tactical? No Pepi either. Pepi hasn't scored a goal in 680 minutes but he better start against Canada.

At least Panama lost so USA now 4 points up to qualify with 5 games left. But they have to be much better. Canada did their job on the road, Mexico just barely though against 10 men. Mexico very erratic like the USA. Only Canada seems to be consistent and survived yesterday on the road with no Davies.

Huge game from the Canucks.

Brilliant goal from David. 2 huge saves from Borjan.

Even the first goal came off a great play from Buchanan that resulted in an own goal.

Honduras had many more shots 14 to Canada 7 but only 3 on target for both teams. Good 3 point for Canada. Long travel for that to and from too. USA needs to play much better to beat Canada Sunday.

Those Hondurans are thugs too. Should have been 2 red cards, but nothing...

They have VAR now in CONCACAF. Was there VAR on these or did VAR suck as usual? Honduras is the worst team in this tournament. USA has them at home Wednesday.

Weah out versus Canada. Not vaccinated enough for Canada. Has one dose and then got COVID. Canada requires 2, France 1 where he plays for Lille. Look for Aaronson to start but watch Berhalter go MLS with Morris or Ariola.
