2022 Season Thread

I'm of the opinion that they never should have changed the number after Dale died. Dale wouldn't have wanted it. 8 was the original DEI number that Dale ran in the early Busch Series days and what he ran before NASCAR, 3 was Richard's number. Richard raced the 3 for years as an owner driver and Ricky Rudd got the first two wins for RCR in the 3. Dale had pretty well hand picked Harvick to be his replacement. Harvick should have been in the 3 to begin with.

That's like saying Geoff Bodine disrespected Alan Kulwicki by keeping the 7 when he bought out AK Racing after Alan died or Robert Yates disrespected Davey Allison by letting Kenny Irwin Jr drive the 28 or Kyle Petty disrespected Adam Petty by driving the 45 after Adam died

Lol. How are you gonna say Kyle disrespected Adam by driving the 45? It's his own son! HIS SON DIED. If the man wants to race his son's number as part of his grief, let him. Sometimes you need to think a bit before you hit send.

Did you even read the post you replied to?

Of course Kyle wasn’t disrespecting Adam. Just like Richard Childress isn’t disrespecting Dale Sr by letting Austin Dillon drive the 3. I never said Kyle disrespected Adam, quite the opposite actually. Maybe you should take your own advice.

25th place. Look I like you, but you're not capable of backing that up because it's not based in facts. He's been a consistent top 15 driver his entire Cup career in mediocre equipment. I think you might have Austin confused with Ty.
Ok, I will go with a 20th place driver. And without grandpa money he would not have earned a ride.

Tell me again why you don’t like Chase Elloit

I'll answer.

Because he's a dick and a total jackoff who rode around a lap down blocking the 4 so his team mate could win a race.

A record on dirt that rivals Tony Stewart, a bunch of trucks wins a championship, a bunch of Busch Series wins and a championship. He earned his ride and you’re not capable of defending your stance, so why even state it?

I’ve lived near Dawsonville my entire life and I never liked Bill, and that’s not an unpopular stance around here. Chase drives for the devil, and he didn’t punch Denny Hamlin when he had every right to.

We will always disagree on this subject.

If you were talking about Ty, I’d agree with you, but nobody outside of two HOF drivers has ever won more than a handful of races at the Cup level with RCR. I happen to think Paul Menard was an underrated driver even though daddy’s money funded his career(but I think American motor sports in general owes Menards a lot of gratitude for their sponsorship of numerous drivers in numerous leagues) and Austin was clearly better than Menard. Menard was generally a 20th place driver. Say 15th place driver(which is better than the vast majority of NASCAR drivers to ever exist) and I wouldn’t have too much to say either

First sellout for any event in the history of Gateway. First ever Cup race, makes sense. They did good getting rid of Kentucky and replacing it with Gateway

Chase Elliott is a pussy, but we already knew that

Did I miss something with Cindric and Hamlin?

Cindric put Hamlin in the wall.

He also put Elliott into the wall.

My new favorite driver.

Hamlin is a bitch too. LOL @ him white knighting for Bubba Wallace

Better Logano than Busch. I hope BJ McLeod knocks Chase Elliott’s teeth down his throat. Biggest chickenshit in NASCAR history

Lost all respect for Chastain. Never apologize when those two are the victims.

Kyle can only blame him self. Drove it in way to deep

But all in all, as far as the racing goes, I think the decision to ditch Kentucky for Gateway was definitely the right call. Pretty damn good race IMO
