I think B1G will ultimately grab Oregon and Washington.
I thought so too originally. But when they didn't add those 2 and said that they're waiting on ND, I started to question that. It might be a move to 18. ND and Oregon.
I am still not sure ND makes the jump to B1G, at least not yet. The future of CFB is likely on ND. If ND joins the ACC, we still have a 3rd Power 5. If they join B1G or SEC, it is all over.
The issue is ND may not make the move for a couple of years even if they are interested in the B1G. I think ND wants to stay pat.
The one item of interest that is being pointed out on VolNation is that the B1G is more attractive now that they have USC who is a traditional Notre Dame rival.
I believe that was the primary reason for the move. Obviously USC brings value to the Big Ten on their own but the goal has always been to make ND and offer it can't afford to turn down. This might be it.
Possibly but the B1G should have gotten Boston College instead of Rutgers in that scenario. Boston College is that other game (along with Navy) that Notre Dame wants to keep.
The SEC won't be expanding to Oregon, or the left coast. No need and the complexities of it are absurd.Hope we get that call from the SEC before we beat Georgia otherwise we will be put on the 'Do not call' list by the SEC just like the Big TEn
I still don't think ND joins a conference until it comes to the point that they absolutely have to (we arent there yet)
Notre Dame would be the huge get there. If they do that they are 17 and you have to go to 20 or 22.I still don't think ND joins a conference until it comes to the point that they absolutely have to (we arent there yet)

The SEC will choose schools from the following list if it makes financial sense (in sort of an order of best to worst):
Clemson
FSU
UNC
Duke
UVa
Miami
OkSU
WV
NCState
VaTech
Louisville
Kansas
Truthfully, not many of these deliver that many eyeballs:
19. Clemson — 1.74M
22. Oklahoma State — 1.58M
25. Florida State — 1.27M
35. Miami — 1.038M
36. North Carolina — 1.032M
40. West Virginia — 948K
50. Louisville — 616K
51. Virginia — 611K
54. Kansas — 540K
56. NC State — 525K
62. Virginia Tech — 447K
96. Duke — 64K
They can go to 20 or 22, I can't see 8 teams that are worthy and would bring enough to the table to justify getting a piece of pie.
I'd go to 22 with a 3-6-6-6 schedule, and bring in:
19. Clemson — 1.74M
22. Oklahoma State — 1.58M
25. Florida State — 1.27M
36. North Carolina — 1.032M
Then 2 of these, with the hoops schools being first choice:
96. Duke — 64K
54. Kansas — 540K
50. Louisville — 616K
51. Virginia — 611K
35. Miami — 1.038M
40. West Virginia — 948K
Out:
56. NC State — 525K
62. Virginia Tech — 447K

Look at tv money. By the end of the decade which is sooner than you think, ACC schools will earn 1/2 of what the B1G & SEC schools do in tv revenue. ACC has to renegotiate a new tv contract asap. Notre Dame knows this so it falls in them - will we have 3 of 5 P5s or P2 and everyone else?I still don't think ND joins a conference until it comes to the point that they absolutely have to (we arent there yet)

with them it isn't about the money from TV deals.. it's a pride thinghow much money is ND giving up by saying no to this?
