You only recognize em because they benefit your favorite driver. Earnhardt and Gordon are the only legit 7 time champs. Petty won a few because he was basically the only full time driver. Pearson is still the GOAT

The official record book that took a win away from Bobby Allison, but retroactively gave 2 wins to Tiny Lund despite all three races in question being the exact same circumstance? The playoff system has been in place for 15 years now. It's not like it's a one off or something. It's the way it is now. A lot of the tracks are posting solid attendance figures, the racing has got better with the new car, and the TV money is excellent. You can bitch and moan about all you wish, but it's not going back. My favorite driver is Erik Jones.

I like the car and the better racing it provides. I’m not gonna recognize a farce of a championship system though. Turns the whole thing into a meaningless gimmick when it’s possible to have 35 wins and a second place finish in a season and not win what NASCAR calls a championship.

Big loss. There’s not any in the lower divisions that RCR could get that can wheel one like Reddick, at least not any that’ll be Cup ready by then.

Harvick's last few months at RCR were about as ugly as they could be, and he still finished the year strong and was alive to win a Mickey Mouse championship in the last race of the season. It sucks, but both parties are still gonna want to win.

Allmendinger would be good stop gap solution. He's in the ECR family too.
If Christopher Bell is on the table, they should jump on that in a heartbeat. He's saying all the right things, but there's no way he's happy at Gibbs
John Hunter Nemechek is probably the closest Cup ready driver in the lower divisions that isn't Joe Gibbs' grandson
But it'll probably wind up being someone like Justin Allgaier or Matt Dibenedetto

Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR) announced today that the team has exercised its option to extend Alex Palou through the 2023 season. Palou won CGR’s 14th INDYCAR SERIES championship in 2021, also becoming the first Spaniard to ever win the season title.
