A Different NFL Draft : CHAT

The only reason I joined this board really was for the mocks. But to be honest for me the past year I’ve found it hard to communicate on here. I think probably if I left you guys would have more to talk about in the chats. I’m the outlier here and I’m fine with that.

I’ll be out after this one. It definitely has a different vibe for me than before. It’s been fun and thanks for letting me be part of the crew the last few years.

I hate that somehow politics is the reason for this, I have pretty much stopped watching all sports because they brought politics into it and I brought that shit to our mocks.

As far as us being able to talk about more, I truly don't understand this logic at all, you have been nothing but a great addition to the mocks and I am quite sure the fellas would agree!

I am curious as to why you think you are an outlier?

Well, this sure doesn't make me feel any better.
 
Customer came into the branch. He was an elderly gentleman, and all he had in his hand was a can of garbanzo beans. He paused halfway tot the teller line and started patting himself down, looking for his wallet I assumed. After a bit, he turned and left the branch, only to return a few minutes later. I had a customer at my window, so he went to the teller next to me.

I have some paper towels (napkins) at my station for help with sanitation of keyboards and stuff, so it wasn't so unprecedented when the teller next to me asked if she could take a few. The towels weren't mine, just left at my station because it is the most convenient place to leave these types of items for everyone. I really didn't think anything of it, but the second time she came by it seemed a little weird. I was just finishing up with my customer when she came by a third time for more towels. Curious, I started watching the situation unfolding at her window.

The older gentleman had brought his spare change in the can he had been carrying. This isn't anything out of the ordinary, and since the coin shortage started we've been more lax about our must be rolled rule when turning in coinage. So when the gentleman asked the other teller if he could turn in his coin, she told him that he could. That's when he turned over the can and dumped the coins out. Unfortunately for her, he hadn't cleaned out the garbanzo bean can from when he'd used it in his cooking, and the coins were covered in thick garbanzo sauce, hair and a few actual beans. She was trying without much success to clean off the coins as well as the counter in her station. When she'd finally gotten them counted and gave him his cash for the coins, he started to leave - but he turned back after a couple of steps and demanded his can back (which was promptly given).

Even after using alcohol "sanitizer" to soak the coins for a hour before rolling them, her coin vault would smell of garbanzo beans for 3 days after this incident.

You're awesome - I don't know exactly what you may be referring to, but your participation in the drafts have been a huge positive, IMO

and I agree with citysushi. It’s nos’s fault. And he shouldn’t have taken the money to convert you all to the hooplanation. We should all publicly shame him!!!

Thanks y’all for the kind words. It’s honestly been on my mind a while but relieved to hear some of the opinions on here. I genuinely figured I was causing some friction around here and thought it would be better for me to dip. Appreciate the love though.

the friction has only been between us.... @Nosferatu texts me every morning saying sweet things about you.. i try to convince him that you are an asshole....

I've been meaning to respond to this since about an hour after you posted it, but for me, life has just gotten crazy. I have much less downtime at work and at home due to this covid thing and having an almost one year old now and my dog just got diagnosed with diabetes and all kinds of shit. And what little internet time I have, I try to devote to fantasy football and cat videos. I just simply don't have the free time that I used to. I know you hate the open drafts with the mega teams, but the less thinking and research I have to do deal with, the better right now. I've been running on instinct for a while now and when I do have to research, it's not near as in depth as it used to be. So, that's my excuse for not coming on here and making fun of all you guys' sorry ass picks and telling you how kick ass my teams are.

@citysushi ,,, I still try to at least skim through the chat pages and I do recall some banter back and forth between you and someone about something political a while back. I'm guessing this is what you are referring to. I'm not a very political guy to begin with, but I will tell you that I didn't hold anything against you for whatever it was. I consider you just as much a part of this group as anyone else in here, except for maybe Nos and to a lesser degree Shane, since he helped hold this thing together while Nos was boycotting the old hoop or got banned or whatever the hell happened back then. Anyway, I hope you reconsider leaving or if you do take a break, you end up coming back. I'm pretty sure that your post wasn't directed at me in any way, but I still feel the need to let you know that you would be missed if you left. I can't even remember who it was that you got into it with or what it was about, but I really hope they don't hold anything against you, either. If they do, then they need to reconsider their stance on that.

Anyway, I know that I haven't been pulling my weight on the chat aspect of this board recently, but I would hate for this to just die off. And honestly, I don't think it will. But in the end, running these drafts are tough and time consuming and if it is not fun for you, Nos, then there is no reason to expect you to keep doing them. Maybe doing them less frequently is a solid option. We could still chat here. Maybe take a little time to iron out ideas for the next draft.

And yes, Savaii's death really hit this board hard (or... the old one). Fuck cancer. And yes, I miss Ritz.

The person in question is me. See the thing is when you are clearly on one side of the aisle you just can't understand how someone could be on the other side, that goes both ways. I think this all started with my reaction to Sushi in regards to Covid. The thing that made me feel bad about it then and truthfully still does is what I text him was a joke but he certainly didn't take it to be a joke.

I am here because of you guys, well most of you and I for the life of me can't figure out how to get us back to where we once were, minus the fighting of course. I think there are many reasons there isn't conversation. First off, me... The issues I had when Savali died mixed with a small group of new people to the drafts I just didn't handle well. I don't think i'm the only to blame for that though, that one guy don't remember his name was just a piece of shit and i'm sorry if you guys like Hall but IMO he was a little bitch from day one and it never changed, he is passive aggressive a lot like Ritzy but there was nothing redeeming about him. Point is the conversations or arguments when they first got here did damage to the drafts IMO and I just don't know if we recovered from that.

It really sucked the way Ritzy's wife fucked him over but losing him here created a void, he was really annoying at times, you guys don't even know but he was a great person and he helped keep the conversation going and he was always here. I can't believe it's been nearly two years since we lost Savali.

I agree with what 500 said, we could use some new people, even if just a couple. I told Sushi the other day one of the issues here now is we all know each others opinions on players so well there's just nothing to talk about. I believe all of us could draft for each other and not have it turn out much different. Hey, maybe that's an idea for a draft....

I can't speak for the other fellas but I have never hated you. You know I don't like that you make us wait forever and that you don't take this at all seriously (which isn't a bad thing to a certain point) but I don't believe anyone actually hates you, I think you want people to hate you, makes you feel like somehow you matter or have some sort of power but nope sorry, don't believe you are hated!

Also, stay away from my bike and my sister ya bastard!
