TV Series Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon

I don't know why you are getting so defensive about it.

no one cares...she didn't even have a seat at the table at dinner that night. That girl is of no consequence.
Uh...........yeah she did. She was sitting beside Aegon. She toasted the Velaryon girls. She danced with Jacerys. She has a very large role to play in the whole shebang.

Just pondering out loud, not really looking for a reply since it might spoil things for me. But I'm curious when the Greyjoys take over being the big sea power, if it happens in this upcoming war where the Valarians are wiped out of their navy strength and Greyjoys take on that title helping the hot brunettes queen.
Nope. Gonna be a while.

oh you mean Aegon's wife? She made the toast that sometimes when he is drunk he gives her attention?

guess I didn't realize he married his sister

Ah. Mod threats. got it. Excellent way to run a forum.
You’re a 100% right and I wouldn’t blame you if you never came back to this forum. In fact you should probably show him who is king of your domain and never step foot in here again to get your point across.

I love the “green vs black” ragers already going on on Reddit.

The Greens love to say the blacks are horrible and incestuous.

Ummmmm…..which side isn’t in this story?

I didn't realize it was an actual story until a few days ago

To be clear I’ve not read any of the books. I’m just going off what I see online. Whether we are currently sourced in this book or will be I do not know.

I’ve just seen a lot of the “blacks and greens” forming up online.

Funniest part is people are getting offended at threads like “the blacks are evil and horrible” and asking if their group could be called something else so it doesn’t sound racist

Bingo!

Cool statement from Paddy Considine on his Instagram. He gave an amazing performance as King Viserys I! :suds:

Paddy Considine said:
Thank you for the kind words. I cannot reply to every comment, but I'd like to acknowledge that they haven't been lost upon me. It was an incredible adventure where I made lots of new friends that will be with me for the rest of my life. I'd like to thank the creators for allowing me the freedom to make Viserys my own. I have never loved a character so much.

Paddy Considine said:
I want to give massive love and respect to @brooke.sian who came in for only a few days, but changed the course of my character with her brilliant performance and commitment to the work. The impact stayed with me until my final improvised words. She unlocked the missing piece of the puzzle for me, and allowed my story to come full circle. From the moment she dies, so does Viserys. It was a love story.

Paddy Considine said:
That's the secret I carried with me. As sick as he gets, he never, himself, demands any cure. He quietly accepts his suffering, never forgiving himself for putting his beloved wife through such torture in her final moments. Viserys was a gift. I am so honoured he found me. Now, no more.

I agree, he was outstanding.

Martin thought so as well

“I got a text message that simply said: ‘Your Viserys is better than my Viserys’. It was from George RR Martin,” Considine explained. “And I thought: that’ll do it. Thanks for trusting me.”

I can nit pick quite a few things performance wise on this show….but not Paddy’s performance. Not the slightest nit to pick. He was absolutely sensational.

Especially the last episode where his character was a damn mess. He just nailed it.

Yeah 3-4 seasons for this story arc. They also hinted at doing more after that but for a different time period in the Targareyan time line.

Well if they hit another Targaryen time line, I sure as heck hope it is Aegon's Conquest.

Those are definitely the 2 Targaryen timelines they could hit. Also could do a series up to and including Robert's rebellion, which would be the direct prequel to GoT.

Personally, I've always liked the north and wouldn't mind a Long Night season.

I miss the Starks as they were definitely the good guys and you found yourself rooting for them (all of them really). House of Dragons both the strength and weakness is you don't really know who to root for as they all seemed like bad people at the end of the day.

Not a damn one of them actually cares about the people they would rule and that is what set Ned Stark apart. Ned Stark's death was the most surprising TV death to me that I can remember. I never thought they were actually going to kill him and actually gasp when they did.

To all you idiots talking about the servant girl asking about the whereabouts of Dyanna. That's freakin' Helaena.....you know, Visery's daughter & Aegon II's sister/wife. That's who Alicent hugged after slapping Aegon II.
Isnt he just Aegon?

His dad had a brother Aegon, who was just Aegon. One of Aegon I’s sons had a son named Aegon. He was just Aegon.

He’s only the second of his name if he sits in a certain chair.

He’s right with Sean Bean as far as work I would’ve liked to see more of in this universe.

The first spinoff show they were gonna do was gonna be in the Long Night period, but HBO passed on it after viewing the pilot. Apparently they thought it wouldn't do well since it didn't look enough like GoT since the time period is set so far back. A fair thought, but I still would have liked to seen it.

Also, there's rumors the next show will actually be a sequel to GoT, following Jon Snow.

Yeah, i read the article shortly after posting that. Apparently too big a risk for HBO. There's very little text to work off of from GRRM, so the story would largely have to rely on the showrunners telling a great story. And considering how far back we are looking, it's not even the same world so it would be like creating a brand new storyline/universe. Could be awesome, or could crash and burn. Much easier to grab a different storyline featuring house names and places most fans are familiar with.

I'm team Stark, so I'd watch for sure. Completely understand most of their viewing audience might have reservations.

That entrance Viserys made in the throne room in episode 8 is one of the grandest couple of minutes in all of the Game of Thrones shows.

I was thinking it might be painful to watch but it really well done and needed to be drawn out like it was.

and Daemon helping him onto the throne was a good touch
