ACC Basketball

So I know about the coaching situation but like damn, did every player they had transfer out and they replaced them all with nerds from the Louisville chapter of the Dungeons and Dragons club? How are they this bad?

Their transfer situation is probably a wash given what they lost and had come in. Their FR class hasn't really contributed, but they just don't have a lot of talent in upperclassmen or overall on their roster. I will say, I didn't expect them to be this awful.

Jao Ituka is a game time decision tonight and Williamson will not play. So either way, Deacs will still be without a full squad

UNC is obnoxiously overrated so far.

Not the same team that got hot when it mattered last year. They have looked awful

its easy to forget that they were a bubble team until the final regular season game of the season last year. they got super hot at the right, but they have to prove that they can sustain that over the course of a 40 game season. i have my doubts.

they're a deeply flawed team and them being ranked #1 was a clown move

tbh, i think their #1 issue is they don't have enough scorers. they truly can't afford one of Bacot/Davis/Love to have an off game. they just don't have enough guys on their bench that can get buckets. Nance and Black are solid complimentary pieces but outside of that they don't have much.

Clemson is getting screwed, tbh

Iowa just got five seconds worth of offensive even though the shot clock started with three seconds

oh and not to mention the clear push in the back

20 years ago, Syracuse had Melo, GMac, Hakim Warrick and JPace. Now they're losing at home to Cornell and Bryant. They suck. Keep their ass off Big Monday.

Syracuse is perfectly content with letting Boeheim drive them right into the ground and i'm 100% for it

the annoying part about Cuse is that these mother fuckers should only have one NCAAT appearance since 2014. Instead they have four because of name recognition. I hate sounding like a conspiracy theorist, but no other explanation makes sense for their inclusion during those years.

in other news, Deacs whooped up on a pair of HBCUs this week. Competition was weak, but they are finally starting to heat up from deep. Monsanto is starting to get PT, Ituka is healthy and they're starting to look like a team now. Williamson is out, not sure when he's coming back. Big test @ Wisconsin next week.

another thing about Boeheim...

its funny that out of himself, Roy, K and Pitino that he's the last one standing. He was the first of the four to have a succession plan w/ Mike Hopkins. That was back in 2015. He was supposed to retire by 2018. Both of his sons have graduated, yet he's still coaching and is stinking up the joint.

I've been of the mindset, that a good Syracuse is better for the health of CBB, but with them being in the ACC, them being good those first couple seasons didn't really move the needle much for me. I'm not sure if they can ever get back to what they were. Those former Northeast powers, Cuse, Gtown and St Johns have probably seen their best days.

But yeah, Boeheim is annoying AF, so I don't really care if it gets run into the ground. And yeah, a couple of their tournament appearances were questionable at best.

And yes, for the love of God, please beat Wisconsin. Looking forward to seeing that game.

Duke has a lot of good players, but no one really stands out. first time in a long time i have been able to say that

Unc goes down again. Wouldn't surprise me if they were completely out of the top 25. No good wins and still have IU, OSU and Michigan left OOC. Could really be looking at losing 5 OOC games(although Michigan looks pretty shitty too). I know its early, but with the way the rest of the league has struggled, if they do lose 5 OOC games, they are going to have to go at least 15-5 in league play to feel safe. Especially if they don't beat UVA or Duke. ACC currently only had 5 teams in the top 50 of KenPom.

Kenpom is worthless until January. Pomeroy (sp?) has even admitted as much.

and lol @ Caleb Love. I can't believe Hubert just throws him out there every game and let's him go bombs away.

could argue he cost them both the Iowa State and Alabama games. he's a chucker that is a 35% career shooter. If Hubert can't find a way to reel him in, then they're going to be a bubble team again.

That's definitely true, but teams like Duke and UNC have dropped pretty significantly since the start of the season. UVA has definitely helped themselves a ton.

My God FSU. What the hell?

never thought this league would be as bad as it was from 2006-2011 again, but jesus, here we are. it's even worse right now. BC, Pitt, Syracuse, FSU and Louisville are pretty fucking bad. Syracuse might turn it around, b/c they're fucking weird, but we'll see.

thank god Deacs get Duke, UNC and NCSU twice and Virginia at home. also need to win 2/3 of Wisconsin, Rutgers and LSU. go 0-3 during those games and the season is over.

Good. Big Ten basketball is boring as shit and if we are being honest, Midwesterners don't deserve happiness

Its good for the BIG10. Half of the ACC is buy game quality
