Possibly the difference of Germany going through. Maybe in the long run best for Germany so they run out the cancers on the team....and there are a lot. No way Germany was going to win the World Cup. Let's move on and figure out what to do for Euro 2024 in Germany in 19 months. Right now the only keepers are Musiala, Havertz (but only behind a real #9), Kimmich, and the injured Florian Wirtz. P.S. Now we know why Bayern Munich has no German defenders for the first time in ages. They are almost all French. We saw why in this World Cup.

My mom born and raised there. Grandfather took me to Bundesliga games there when I was a kid a couple times. I also used to watch a show on PBS called soccer made in Germany with him and just loved the game from then on especially the Germans. I am talking like early 70's that is long I have enjoyed German soccer.
That is absolutely how fandom is born.
On VAR I thought that should come back, but that is as close as close can get.
Ultimately, with the way Japan played that game, Im glad they got this counted because they played a great game.

Yup. Had season tickets to the San Jose Earthquakes in the mid through late 70's. By that time some of the great early 70's German stars I heard about and seen on TV blips here and there like Beckenbauer and Muller were in the NASL at the Cosmos and Ft Lauderdale Strikers and got to see them for real.

Cavani and Suarez should be put to pasture at this point. Useless in club soccer and the same in International.
At least Suarez went back to Uruguay to play at Nacional, Cavani still trying to play in La Liga. Both are past it for sure.

Famous game with Ghana and Uruguay in 2010 World Cup if anyone remembers. Suarez intentional handball that worked actually lol. Today Ghana held them just enough to knock them out. Turn around is fair play. Tried to post video but was rejected. If you can find it, quite hilarious but so Suarez.

Just realized if Switzerland had scored one more goal, they would have tied Brazil on goal differential but scored more goals. They would have been first and Brazil second and Brazil would have dropped into Spain side of bracket I think. Spain loses to Japan to avoid Brazil in quarterfinals lol and almost got them anyways. Am I right?
