It's being reported that Jaden Rashada ...

Which means exactly what? I've never understood the "Stetson is 25" nonsense. It's within the rules, he obviously has an incredible story of overcoming the odds by being persistent which means he is going to be older than the 3 year players, and with the Covid year the average age of CFB players is going to be higher than ever. Hooker is 3 months younger than Stetson, and we Heisman winner who was 28 or something. I don't really think that's the cut you think it is.
ooooh someones triggered.. all i did was point out that the QBs this weekend were all younger.. not sure why that triggered you..it's a funny fact, that's all

Not triggered, just don't get the "he's 25" thing. Explain it to me.

Half are younger. Burrow and Mahomes are older. Hurts and Purdy are younger

lol for real? They were talking about this on Sirius XM which is why I posted it here as a funny fact..

I looked it up because it didn’t sound right. Burrow and Mahomes started college a few years before Bennett did(Hurts did too, but Bennett evidently was held back a year before college at some point, he and Hurts would have started elementary school the same year).

Bennett is older than several high profile NFL QBs though.

But at the same time, it’s not like he’s Chris Weinke or Brandon Weeden and being nearly 30 when entering the draft. Weeden has to be the oldest first round pick of all time

What is interesting to me about these four QBs are their "journeys". Hurts and Burrow had to be extremely patient/mature and let the long term process play out. The other two had to play in less than glamorous destinations like Iowa State and Texas Tech. And three of the four they beat to get there were from places like Duke, Miss State, and Wyoming! Of the 8 only Sunshine had the "it" path.

That's why I'd like to see Bennett do well. I like "grinder" stories.

I think he can hang around as a backup for 10 years in the NFL. He’s not an NFL starter by any stretch though. He had a great season this year, but also this was one of the best pass blocking o lines in UGA history. He was sacked 9 times all season.

I don't see him lasting 2 seasons.. I see him playing for the XFL or USFL or whatever other league that's not the NFL

Maybe, but he has the arm talent and mobility to stick around.

That helps a lot. I think that is the case with a lot of college QBs that have that kind of talent to help them. When they transition to the NFL the talent gap is a lot narrower. College QBs at other places are more used to having lesser talent....or at least not more.

No doubt about the mobility, but his arm is average at best, as far as pro standards are concerned.
Good enough for a backup IMO. But we’ll see. I wouldn’t be shocked if he was cut before the season and never latched on anywhere.

If I were in his shoes, I’d hang up my cleats now. The UGA boosters will make sure he’s taken care of for life

Where is this Rashada kid going do we know?

Tell me why you think that? Don't get me wrong ... for some reason I am not as optimistic, too, and am fearful that Stet will prove us all wrong. But I think it's because I have fallen into the "he's a great CFB QB but not a pro" and I am not sure why. So, tell me the exact reasons you don't think he can play in the NFL. I am genuinely interested.

Here is why I think he will have a chance, so long as he gets in the right system (which is true for most QBs):

1. He's smart as hell, and understands the game. We all know that a lot of really physically talented QBs just didn't have the brains to take advantage of their skill. So, as to the mental aspect of the game, I think you will find he would easily be in the top half of the league. So, he has a high QB IQ.

2. He's fast. He will run in the 4.5s. Now, he's not Fields, Allen, or Jackson, but he's a slippery guy who has the ability to extend plays with his legs. Maybe a good comparison would be Mahomes, although he's faster. Yet Mahomes has the ability to extend plays with his feet.

3. He has an above average arm. Yes, I said that and it's true. No, he doesn't have a cannon, but you don't need a cannon if you have a quick release and can throw with accuracy. People who call him a game manager are crazy ... he's actually more of a gunslinger, which can actually drive you nuts when he tries to do too much.

4. He has intangibles. He is a gamer and a baller who excels when the most is on the line. Stop and think - he was the O MVP in 4 CPF games and 1 SECCG. He was a Heisman finalist, and won the Manning Award. He is a leader, and has a chip on his shoulder. He's clutch as hell. From his first game taking over and coming back against Arky in 2020, to the perfect drive in the 4th quarter of the Peach Bowl, he's been as clutch as an QB in this class.

5. UGA runs an offense that is closer to an NFL O than most.

6. The main downside he has is his size - he's 5-11 at best, and 190 soaking wet. But, he's been throwing for 3 years behind NFL height OL, so it's not like he is going to suddenly not be able to see over the OL. Basically, he's the same size as Bryce Young, faster and more elusive, but he doesn't have the zip that Young has.

Read this eval, and then compare his eval with Bryce Young. It's almost comical. They are the same size (ignore the 6 foot nonsense - there are plenty of pictures of the two standing together and he isn't taller than Stetson) and everything they say about Bryce equally applies to Stetson. This isn't true at all. He doesn't have an elite arm, but the scouts will tell you he has a fine arm. He has enough zip, if not as much as you would want.

I see him lasting in the NFL as a backup. His mobility and decision making alone will allow him to play much longer than 2 years. Chase Daniels has made a career out of being a backup. If Chase Daniels can do it -- so can Bennett.

I’m not gonna be that long winded, but he’s mobile, but not a running QB, and his arm isn’t elite. His small frame is gonna make it tough for him to last long as a starter, especially since he’s not like Kyler Murray and can avoid the hits.

Also his age is detriment. Yeah, he has a bunch of college experience and will likely enter the NFL more mature than most QBs just entering the league, but most 26 year olds in the NFL have been in the league for a few years and have been developed. He’s gonna have to learn new systems, and he’s getting a late start on that.

totally different QBs

Eh, I know what my eyes tell me. Average arm. He'll be "a guy" in the nfl, for a couple of years pr so. I get it, you're an optimistic fan of where he played his college ball

For the record, I'm not all that convinced Young will amount to much, either
