The only thing that could be a predator of humans would be microbes. And we have defenses against most of those due to our brains.

Well, it seems you also have a tenuous grasp on the definition of predator. An ostrich eats lizards, and is therefore a predator.

But you're probably thinking "big scary predators," so I've eaten shark, barracuda, alligator, snakes. I ate all kinds of fucked up shit over in China and Korea, so God knows what some of that was.
I thought to reword it to ask "what have you eaten that eats red meat?"

that's fine

I am not disputing that.

but when it comes to the actual food chain and where we sit, it is not above all where we are going out and killing cougars to survive. That sort of thing is avoided.
But if we need to we can go out and kill a cougar. Because we ahve the brainpower to outsmart it or create methods/tools to kill it.

apex means you have no natural predators

see my earlier examples

animals stalk people in the wild.
No, natural predators does not infer they can't get fucked up by something.

A Grizzly is an apex predator, but will back the fuck down from a Bull Moose.

being able to not get killed by something that wants to eat you?

no it doesn't
Yes. Having developed brainpower to be able to outsmart or avoid a would be predator.

again, evolutionarily, yes we are above them

but food chain wise, we are not.

they want to eat us. we don't want to eat them

Anyone that says Humans aren't apex predators then points to an animal that has sharp teeth, speed, strong jaws, armor are allowing the use of evolved traits for those animals and disallowing the human brain, which is also an evolved trait.

You have other options, but if you needed to eat them you could and would.

but food chain is something eating another thing to survive.

we do not go and actively kill these other creatures to survive because we do not require it.

could

but we don't because it isn't really below us on the food chain

So since we developed to the point we can farm animals, that means we aren't superior in the food chain to a cougar?

That's idiocy.
