PAC News

thats one of the funny things about all this is the very short memory of people and the what have you done lately mentality. but yet Arizona Basketball gets treated like the late 90s was last year.
Arizona most recent final 4 2001
Oregon most recent final 4 2017

You think the B12 would rather have FAU over AZ because they made a FF more recently? AZ is a HUGE CBB brand. It just is what it is.

Colorado would be a good addition to the B12. It honestly made no sense they joined the P12 to begin with. I understood their thinking behind it, but it just hasn't come to fruition. Their basketball program is okay. Certainly not the dumpster fire football has been the last two decades. They've given their fans no reason to pack the stadium or travel. In the late 80's and 90's that was different.

And I disagree about the B12 taking anyone. They've done a really good job once Texas/OU left. They have a bball powerhouse, and have great options for addition and are really stable right now.
Agree, while Big12 is not going to be SEC/BIG level when it comes to money they will imo get a lot closer by adding a few select PAC schools and the conference will be a fun watch iyam.
Utah
Arizona
ASU
UDub
The Ducks
Colorado

Sets up nice for some good ol fashioned hate games which we all love.

Any of those schools in danger of ever getting poached?

I missed the news that the PAC #2 is leaving for a gig in the private sector..he was like the deputy something

Saw this on another board, feels like the BiG would need to expand but this would solve a lot of it's travel issues for the other sports

Apparently he is going to be negotiating a media deal with the PAC. This seems like a loss But it also might just be a good career move. Guy used to be the WCC Commish I believe and knows his stuff apparently.

I can't imagine Nebraska and Minnesota are going to like this. But yes, more teams out west give you more options to deal with travel concerns.

It’s a great career move GTFO before you’re fired.

What he proposed would completely fuck Nebraska and Minnesota.

I’m all for it.

I'd think it would hurt the Midwest Division worst.

Nebraska would at least be getting regular west coast exposure for recruiting.

It's why Notre Dame plays USC and Stanford every year.

lol, so we’re to assume whoever made a final 4 more recently is more of a basketball power? GMFB
most recent means most recent. make of it what you will.

Big 12 went for Cinci based on the Luke Fickell years.

Doesn’t mean they are worse as A program then teams that made the final 4 more recently. Whole body of work and such

Yeah you will love it when the track team, baseball, softball, gymnastics, volleyball etc are traveling to California, Oregon and Washington for half the season.

Or their track record of being a good football program the last two decades, on top of having a historically good basketball program. They were an obvious choice. And give WVU a travel partner as well.

LOL

You didn't think that out very well, did you?

18 teams in the conference, but playing 4 of them will constitute "half the season".

Not to mention they'll likely split the travel to 2 at home and 2 away each season. So traveling to the left coast twice = "Half the season"?

Derp

It could definitely help with volleyball since a lot of bluechip players reside in CA.. I don't think Nebraska is serious about baseball or basketball..

The difference between Los Angeles, CA and New Brunswick, NJ from Lincoln, NE is just 200 miles, but traveling to Los Angeles would be hard.

Nebraska had a total of zero players on it's 2022 roster from California.

Nebraska - 5
Iowa - 2
Minnesota - 1
Illinois - 1
Indiana - 1
Tennessee - 1
Kentucky - 1
Texas - 1
Utah - 1

Only one player from California in the last 7 years.
