Texpectations: Longhorn Superthread

Good to see it isn't just Thievery who has excuses for days for Ewers.
I didn’t claim Ewers would be great. I just pointed out the obvious difference of 2 camps and it shockingly went over your head. Stay golden, Pony boy

lol excuses for days.. lol you brought up that they had the same amount of time to get acclimated because they shared the same age. I called you out.. you doubled.. i then gave you dates, you triple downed on your take.

Guess we'll see what happens this year, and where QE gets drafted a year from now..
I'm sure after he leads Texas to another 4 or 5 loss year -- he will be at the top of everyone's draft board

Well -- if a random make believe future mock draft has him being drafted -- it must be true
It’s pretty solid evidence that a good season out of him and he is likely drafted, which is just another piece of evidence to suggest you should probably take a break from posting. I could be wrong on that, based on your history of posting it seems you enjoy looking stupid

Saw this on Kelvin Banks

Went up against the #3, #7, #15, and #31 picks in the first round and gave up a total on 1 sack as true freshmen

I never said he wouldn't get drafted. I said he wouldn't be a starter in the NFL. Teams waste picks on QB's all the time, especially sporadic QB's with intangibles they can't teach, looking for the next Josh Allen. Hell -- Anthony Richardson was a top 5 pick this year simply because of his size, speed and arm strength. Had nothing to do with his play on the field, as he was terrible.

And you can find anything you'd like on the internet -- here is McCarthy rated ahead of Ewers using the same site as your mock draft. You could find 100's of "Mock Drafts" for 2024, 2025 all throwing shit against the wall with the hopes fans will click and discuss. THAT IS THEIR JOB.

if a team takes you in the first rd.. they aren't drafting for backups.. All I said is let's see how this season goes, I think Quinn goes off in his 2nd season as a starter in the same system.

You were the one who brought up JJ for comparison

telling y'all.. Scouts love QE.. even if he underwhelms (which i highly doubt), they'll still draft him in the 1st rd

I wouldn't worry about him getting drafted -- I just read something I thought was fake, but then looked it up and it is true. Kansas State has won 2 Big 12 titles since Texas has won their last one. Yikes. I'm thinking Texas fans aren't going to like their new move to the SEC. I'm sure the school will like the money, but Texas better hope they win the Big 12 this upcoming year or it will be a long, long time before they win a conference title.

B12 also-ran, Aggy, was the runaway best offense in the by gawd “ SEC defense” SEC their first two years in that league. B12 Also-ran, Mizzou, won their division in the by gawd SEC in their second year there.
SEC is only hype.
B12 was always a better top to bottom league than SEC. Said it a million times. You should tattoo it on your eyelids.

Ewers will probably have a good season. I’m expecting a pretty big drop off for Big 12 teams. I only think the Clones will improve…and they can’t help but do so. K-State might hang around the top again but only because of coaching. The rest drop back from a small amount to a lot. The newbies will fit in somewhere along the middle and the bottom.

That's just nonsense. Maybe the B12 is better at the bottom, but not at the top. Perhaps once Texas comes along it will strengthen the bottom.

well guess who's beaten KSU the last 6 games?

Ewers will be fine this coming season.. People expected perfection from a guy who hadn't started a game since His high school playoff game in December of '20.

He has a full season and now to full off seasons in the same system, he's going to cook. If Todd has Worthy and Sanders as first rd draft picks in his early 2024 mock.. best believe Quinn will be one as well since he's throwing them those passes.

and he'll still be drafted higher than the UM QB :)

You missed my point. I also think Ewers will be fine…but one main reason is I don’t think he’ll be doing it against defenses as good as last year.

we say that now.. But no one thought TCU defense would be as good as it was.. Looking at their schedule.. they play the better of the conference teams so who knows..

I just bet on a returning OL, WR room that has added 1 stud (AD), get another off an injury (Neyor) and has a 5 star (Cook) and another bluechip in Moore.. both which got a lot of run in spring.. Cook in particular. They have the best TE in the conference and one of the better ones in the nation in Sanders also returning.

RB is a question mark.. but i believe Brooks coming off his groin injury will be fine carrying the ball. He probably is the favorite to get a 1k yards rushing on this team for this season.

Quinn just needs to dot the eyes downfield because none of the teams they play can cover all 3 WRs. Last season they stacked the box, Bama got beat bad.. even kool-aide when they did that. Think they'll be playing 2 safeties over the top more which gives the young RBs a chance in RPOs

Quinn just has to stay healthy (something he hasn't been in a full season since....his sophomore season at SLC?
