well i mean it would be kind of unheard of since theyve never done it
First we don’t know they didn’t ask. Next they did it with post season money, doing it with media money isn’t some massive leap.

This is where we'll have to agree to disagree. I think it's a huge leap. It's one thing to allow teams to keep their postseason money. It's fair and every school can benefit from it. It's an entirely different thing to say "these two schools will make more money regardless of the results".

Just my 2 cents

“Arizona is going to have a place to go, and that’s what I tell our recruits, that’s what I tell our donors, that’s what I tell our families of current personnel. We have a great brand…We’re fine. Where we play our road games, we’ll wait and see from our president,” Fisch said during an appearance on “
Next Up with Adam Breneman.”

Not a ringing endorsement that the PAC will be fine.

Here is the list:

2. CFP Involvement - I compiled the following list of schools that would have made a 12-team playoff if there had been a 12-team playoff from 2012-2023. Could be off a little, as it was originally 2021 and I think I've added 2022 and 2023 (that's 2022-23 year).

11 Alabama
10 Ohio State
8 UGA
7 Clemson
7 Oklahoma
5 FSU
5 Oregon
5 Notre Dame
4 Florida
4 LSU
4 PSU
4 Stanford
4 Wisconsin
4 Baylor
4 Michigan State
4 TCU
3 Boise State

I don't know ... ask the person that wrote the article. They chose 2012 for a reason.

Good gawd @Thiefery Rusty cows are a total embarrassment.

so it's going to be Texas fault when it expands to 32 team playoff?

A fair assessment. But to think they didn’t ask?

We agree to disagree :beer2:

I can see giving a school more money to incentivize them, but a share of the CFP is going to be crazy money starting in 2026 ... like close to hundreds of millions. It's going from about $480 million to $1.8 billion. They will be arguing over how to distribute that. It's now distributed to the G5 schools, and then the rest is evenly distributed to the P5 conferences, with shares going to the teams that make it. But, the SEC and the B1G are going to say that all conferences aren't created equally and want more for those teams that get in.

i feel like we have heard from a number of different schools officials and not once has any of them said some schools are asking for more or anything of the sort. I 100% have no doubt that some of them would have been up front about that.

lol yes, Oregon and Washington who probably have an invite to the B1G at some point have never asked the PAC about unequal revenue sharing to keep hem there.

Sell that BS some where else.

The issue is every knows that unequal revenue sharing isn’t keeping UO and UW from joining the Big Ten. That’s why nobody credible has reported this has been requested. It simply wouldn’t make any sense

And again, neither does letting those that make the postseason keep the full freight. Yet they still did it.

I will never believe it wasn’t even discussed. Of course they’d be stupid to do it. But to think it was never even discussed, nah.

I can’t tell you what to believe, you’ve already made up your mind. I can just tell you that’s there’s no evidence that it was discussed and it makes no sense to accomplish it’s supposed goals. My conclusion is it probably was not discussed.

The postseason stuff is a different animal. It incentivizes programs to invest and makes it so everyone can benefit.

As you’ve made up yours. it makes absolutely no sense for them to discuss and ultimately decide on keeping post season revenue for the teams that make it while not even thinking about the media deal lol.

And this postseason money agreement does the exact opposite of benefitting everyone. Although I do agree with it.
