Mel Tucker getting railroaded?

My question is what's the point of trying to question and poke holes in her claim at this point, when even the people doing that seem to agree it's fair that he gets fired for everything up to the non consensual claim anyway?

Like, "yeah, that's all fucked up and he should be fired, but I'll be damned if I believe her claim that it wasn't consensual!"

What's that all about? So many ways this whole thing could have played out based on the info we know, and the hill some of you want to die on is "she was just mad he wouldn't let her listen to him beat off anymore." Obviously the most plausible explanation... :rolleyes2:

this cost you 40 million or so??

I think the agreeing that he should be fired is because, consensual or not, it's a fireable offense.

I think the "no way it wasn't consensual" is more about a potential lawsuit.

I don't think he's getting railroaded, he just screwed up. But I do think there's a discussion to be had over rather or not it's a net plus to wreck someone's career over this. Thus why the only right thing is for him to become a consultant at a certain university after this. :eyebrows:

I would assume she signed a contract with the University.

10K as a consultant isn’t like being a guest speaker in a lecture hall.
A contract to speak to student athletes during orientation. That is literally what she does. She does it around the US, as a guest speaker talking to student athletes about sexual misconduct.

I’m aware of what she does.

That makes more sense to you than a consultant working directly with a man with high power, able to black ball her and dump her current contract, felt powerless to stop his advances before this event, and up through it.

Don't wank where you work.

Women feel trapped routinely by men in power making advances they don't want, but fear professional retribution for not going along with it.

And no, I'm not saying that must be what happened here, but it is all least as plausible as a woman scorned over not having a relationship that was never even alleged to be physical in person.

Who tries to ruin someone over losing a phone sex buddy?

I'm not buying it.
Who tries to ruin someone over losing a phone sex buddy? Someone whose livelihood is speaking about sexual misconduct on campuses around the US, who will have a story coming out about being a side chick to the married head coach of a school she was working at.

And people seem to think this lady was working for MSU -- she lived clear across the country.

You made this comment, so I didn't think you understood what she did.

It is exactly the same as being a guest speaker in a lecture hall -- instead of speaking to a class, she was hired to speak to the football team.

You think guest speakers in lectures get 10K?

Some guest speakers make WAAAAAAY more than 10k. $10k is on the low end for guest speakers.

You want Obama to come speak -- it is around 500k. You want Tony Robbins to come for 1 day to give a motivational speech? It is roughly $1 million.

Guest speakers make a fortune.
