yeah.. State of TX had to support it all.. Baylor should have never been included, also some of the big8 schools were also a drain.. I get the lovable cyclones but they brought nothing to the table.. neither did KSU or okie lightI don’t think so. The Big 12 was a shotgun wedding of 2 failed conferences. The biggest issue for the Big 12 was that is had the smallest population footprint of any conference. CFB became about money and conference with 1/3 of its conference in 1 state was always going to struggle. Not to mention several B schools from small population states (ISU and KSU). Big 12 just had the worst assets of any conference
but it's all a moot point.. schools still would have been picked off.. the positive thing is that after the scare of 2011.. those schools that remained got paid very well..enough to pay for good coaching and to upgrade it's programs (facilities/stadiums).. Which is why the conference is still standing and not dead like the Pac12
