Gunner Helm is a solid TE, and I won't be surprised if they sign one through the Portal.

The OL minus Christian Jones returns, Blue and Baxter also return.

We know the run game is a strength on this team.. will be the focal point heading into the season.. and I'm sure the passing game will continue to improve as the season goes along.

I think UT will easily be a top 5 pre season team heading into '24

I don't think so but I may be totally wrong. I think there will be more meaningful games throughout the season because of more spots available and first round home field/byes. Sure, there will be some blowouts but taking the best four out of the first round and letting 5-12 play first should mitigate that somewhat. Even then, I don't see #5 FSU blowing out #12 Oklahoma just because it is at FSU. Same for 11 Ole Miss/6 Georgia, 10 Penn State/7 Ohio State or 9 Mizzou/8 Oregon.

He put up what would have been empty stats, if not for the Washington player giving Texas 45 seconds, instead of 10 seconds, because of the injury. He got an extra 60 yards from that.

He became a good QB when Washington went into the ridiculous prevent defense to keep the clock running when they were up 9. With the game on the line he had 7 pass attempts in the red zone. He completed 1 for 6 yards, completed one for -1 yards and then threw incomplete passes on the other 5.

If Ewers would have threw it to Mitchell's back shoulder with velocity on the last throw -- it would have been a TD. He threw an alley oop pass instead giving the defender time to make a play.

Texas would have been WAAAAAY better off running down Washington's throat all game. Instead you only run 18 times all game.

arch is ready but Quinn isn't.. there was a stat on number of starts first rd QB selections have had.. Quinn was well below it. He hasn't made it official but ever since the Iowa St game, the $9.95ers said they were 95% positive he was returning for another season

Quinn will be QB1 and I expect him to have the best season.. and I also expect to see Arch see the field as well.

That narrative baffles me. You take knees when doing so for sure runs the clock out.

They did the same thing vs Oregon and Johnsons first down sealed the game. Giving Bo another chance could of been a disaster.

This team plays with no fear and are 14-0 doing so along with the nation's longest active winning streak.

What are you talking about? Mitchell was open. He put WAY too much air under that ball. If he throws it with velocity to the back shoulder -- Mitchell could have made the catch before the DB had a chance to make a play on it or he would have had to commit a PI to stop it, as Mitchell had him boxed out.

And AGAIN -- he put up his numbers between the 20's. He couldn't make the plays once the field shrunk. You can talk about PFF all you'd like. The guy was 24-43 with 1/3 of his passing yards coming against a defense playing to keep the WR's in play and the clock running.

The funniest part is -- you sound like all my fellow Detroit Lions fans who'd talk about how great Stat Padford would play, when he'd throw for 150 yards in the 4th quarter of games we are trailing by double digits.

Texas lost that game because they let Ewers throw WAY too much. Texas wins the game if they simply run between the tackles.

I don't think it was a crazy call to run it there, but they take a knee, let the play clock run to zero, you leave 12-15 seconds on the clock. You punt it and pin them deep with no timeouts. Game would have been over.

Running the ball like that, you bring in negatives like a turnover or a crazy scenario like we saw last night, where the guy is hurt and can't get off the field.
