Michigan’s Sherone Moore to be named head coach

Congrats to the guy :noidea: I wish him at least enough success to keep the Ohio State game tit for tat and entertaining. I just think that there is a big chance that he is going to flop.

The Michigan job is one of the biggest and best in CFB, he is following what will now be a legend, and it’s his first HC gig…We’ll see I guess.

If it were me makin the call, I’d have gotten a coach who has won consistently at different levels similar to how Alabama just did it (still no guarantee I know) but again, we’ll see.

I just hope with the changes on the coaching staff, things don't change too much... at least on the defensive side of the ball. Feels like Michigan's found their identity the last three years running an NFL style 4-2-5.

Any coaching change there’s a chance they flop. Solid coordinator, trained in house for the job, demonstrated ability to win via the suspension games and one of our best recruiters that players love. Keeping the staff in tact as possible is huge to maintain the culture — with a coach hand picked for the job, rather than going outside the house to grab someone now Bama style. Especially with no real obvious choices out there like some years. (We did that once and we got rich Rod). Look what happened to Bama’s roster since then.

Michigan has excelled with coaching lineages. Keep this thing going. Bo -> Moeller -> Lloyd -> Harbaugh -> Moore. Hoke was the only failure in that lineage and he came from head coaching experience.

Some info on Sherrone Moore's contract:

"...a five-year contract that begins at $5.5 million per year.

According to terms of the deal, issued to MLive via an athletic department spokesman, Moore will receive a 2 percent raise every year through the lifetime of the contract and is entitled to an annual $500,000 retention bonus for staying at Michigan.

The contract runs through Jan. 31, 2029."

Uh oh, Michigan is going to start buying players.

Keep your hands off my stack

Sherrone Moore and school administration should setup a massive NIL deal with multi-billionaire Michigan grad & founder of Google-Alphabet, Larry Page... they could rename Michigan Stadium as Google Stadium.

Michigan could recover from losing Jim and from losing Minter, but THIS one may actually hurt

Arguably one of the biggest reasons Michigan started actually winning big games and pushing over Alabama lineman.

Honest question - I thought michigan law said this posting had to be open for at least 7 days. Wasn't Harbaugh just announced as Chargers coach like last Thursday?

And who exactly would that be? Its kind of late to hire any coach from the outside
