What are you reading?

Yes they did. I really enjoyed that one. I guess as long as it's not being done by Disney, it will likely be good too.
I have faith in Disney if they happen to take the task.

I think a lot comes down to who they cast in the role of Ryland.

Matt Damon was a great fit for The Martian.

Been doing some non-fiction lately. Grabbed "Killers of the Flower Moon" and read that in about 3 days (Have not seen the movie). Book was a real thriller.

Also reading "Emperor of All Maladies: a Biography of Cancer." Next up: "Bowling Alone."

The next fiction I read will be the fifth Stormlight book when it comes out later this year. I got my son into "Way of Kings" in July, and he's hooked now. He's almost done with "Rhythm of War" already.

It’s going to be Ryan Gosling.

Looking forward to that one.

my next read might be a Stephen King for Halloween...I try to do that this time of year.

I have not read any Dennis Taylor stuff. Maybe once I get done with the Expanse series I will jump into this one
The Bobiverse series is a silly pop culture laden hard sci-fi about space exploration and it definitely has a similar vibe to Project Hail Mary but with more epic space battles.

I’ve already got Wind and Truth preordered and I really can’t wait for December. Stormlight is just a brilliant series with so many epic moments.

I enjoyed the Bobiverse novels

Those are written by Dennis Taylor. Not Til We Are Lost is the newest Bobiverse novel.
oh...well then nevermind, I have read his stuff and I like it.

I will be checking this one out as well

aaaaaand turns out my library doesn't have ANY of his books in their system. That's some BS.

Went to the book store today and picked this one up. Only ever heard good things about it.

it's good but frustrating because we have been waiting for book 3 for years
That is the main reason I’ve never started the series until now and from what I can tell he’s the only guy who actually writes slower than GRRM.

Light Bringer. The sixth book in The Red Rising series. Excellent!
I'm thinking of starting this series, my library has them all...but there are SO MANY dystopian series out there, it gets a little tiresome Without spoilers, what's the general tenor of this series?

I'm not normally a sci fi fan, but this one is different. Shit tons of military strategy and sword battles. It's like samurai on steroids. Without spoilers, it's based on a society that is divided into colours. Gold at the top and red at the bottom with all the oppression that goes with it, until a young red is recruited to infiltrate the golds and start a revolution. Thus starts the legend of The Reaper. Dystopian, yes, but very entertaining.

Cool, thanks for the synop, I will at least check out the first one
