More Michigan Cheating

There's no reason to suspend him period unless they got the sense that other penalties are coming and its time to start sucking up to try to limit the damage.
Sure there is. It's an appeasement to end this nonsense. I would hope if it were to appease "something larger" the suspension would be more than two games against irrelevant opponents.

Wow ... A Michigan Man (not like a Maryland Man) doesn't like ohio state.
They're just mad because we flipped Herbstreit too

Agree. This rushed pre-emptive, toothless suspension that happens weeks into the season, is all about narrative. Michigan wants to try to soften the blow by claiming they already have the suspensions handled.

If I were the NCAA I'd pause the readout of findings and question what Michigan recently discovered that made them change their tune from "we did nothing wrong" to "our coach needs to be suspended". Gotta make sure the NCAA didn't miss anything, so let's review the evidence and the timelines of when Michigan knew. When it turns out Michigan knew all along and didn't take action last season, double whatever the punishment the NCAA was going to hand out. Suspend Crybaby Sharon two full seasons and reduce all UM athletic scholarships by 50% during that time.

Should be a minimum 2 year postseason ban.
Significant scholarship reduction + other recruiting limitations
Lifetime ban for the coaches involved.

I'd argue the school should have to pay any money they earned from revenue sharing during the cheating years back as well, since they cheated everyone else.
Is this still the in-person scouting and decoding simplistic signs being flashed from the sidelines that happened years ago? It sounds like "show me the football, I'll show you the violation". If it's about the creepy fucker, that's a different story.

For a minor infraction? lol

I think you could argue that Stallions might be deserving of a more significant ban, but not for the scouting aspect and more for the scheme he concocted to try and side-step the rules.

That walk on spot is well worth the hilarious storyline if you ask me.

If you knew Ohio State fans and their relationship with Herbstreit you would realize that those ties were severed years and years ago. (This souring began in 2005ish when Herbstreit started becoming a SEC shill for ESPN along with at times going out of his way to not even be neutral for Ohio State) It's not the dunk you think it is at all in 2025.

Lol, I don't know what's funnier -- this nothingburger of a penalty or the fact that we purposefully skipped over the Oklahoma game so that he was only gone for CMU and Nebraska.
This nothingberger is only what your school has imposed. The school that said he did nothing wrong now admits he did. Uh oh, they found a smoking gun.

He deleted text messages. Pretty easy to see he did something wrong, at least in trying to suggest he didn't delete them. This has nothing to do with the accused sign stealing really. I would say the fact that they're going after the nonsense is more telling because they couldn't find anything else.

"No rules were broken" is now "pretty easy to see rules were broken".

So sad when you find out you were below reproach all along. womp womp

What is the violation that is taking so long to bring to a conclusion? It appears we sent someone to a football game with a smartphone and the teams couldn’t figure out how to make their signals more complex … Except Texas Christian University. Thank you TCU for showing us that some universities are able to think.

Just because someone coulda done something to counter the cheating does not in turn make said cheating ok. This is called victim blaming.

Sorry, I didn’t really mean to victim blame, I blame the universities for not teaching their football teams diversionary tactics. Is that better? In baseball, when there’s a runner at first, a team has a responsibility to keep that runner at first. Teams unable to adjust their signs, or the person giving the signs is guilty of indifference.

I imagine it's taking as long as it is because Michigan was already on probation when Stalion's committed the illegal scouting infraction.

TCU wasn't likely in-person scouted because Michigan didn't know TCU would be a 'Future Opponent".

That is a heck of an excuse. No one has ever offered me a football coaching job, but even I could figure out how to defeat someone stealing my signals. I have mentioned it a few times in this thread. Also, losing our head coach against an upcoming team (Nebraska) with a pretty fucking good history does not make me comfortable. Sorry this is the most minor of minor violations. Probably that is the reason it’s taking so long … looking for something to add for the violations.

It's no mystery that Oklahoma would be expected to be a more formidable opponent than Nebraska.
