Big Ten Basketball

It'd be pretty cool to see both Michigan and Ohio State as #1 seeds come Selection Sunday. If the rivalry is going to suck on the football field, maybe it can be awesome on the basketball court?

I don't see this ohio state team as a 1 at all

The 2007 or 2011 to 2013 Osu teams would destroy this one

Seems like the only one who forgot about defense was you. You have continually left off Wagner who's arguably the best defender in the country and is the best in the B1G.

Because of one dude? Lol. Make your list man I’m just throwing peeps out there. Goodness

Either way it’s a competitive game and that’s the point. Top 2 teams are pretty loaded

Well the 07, 11 and 12 OSU teams were great. No harm in not being as good as those teams. I think the 11 team was the best osu team this century. Just happened to get upset in the S16. I think this team is on par with the 13 team though, which got a 2 seed. I think this team can get a 1 because there isn't a sure thing as far as the 4th #1 seed this year. In 13 you had UL, KU, IU and Gonzaga pretty assured as the top 4. There's a spot to be had, and with a good finish, osu will be as deserving as anyone.

Yes, I agree those teams are loaded at the top 2. The bad thing for the B1G is that there aren't great options at PG when comparing them to Butler and Mitchell on Baylor and Suggs and Ayayi on Gonzaga. That's why in a perfect world I'd like to have Ayo play PG, but then that leaves a question mark at the other guard spot. If I'm building a team to beat one of those two, this is my starting 5:

Carr
Dosunmu
Wagner
Liddell
Garza

Off the bench I'd have:
Ayala
Harper Jr.
Livers
Wieskamp
Kofi

I'm leaving off Dickinson, who I think is a good player, only because I think he'd be a liability defensively. It might not be the perfect 10, but that's where I'm leaving as of now.

Agreed on 11. That is the worst loss I've seen as an osu hoops fan. If you think back to 07 they got extremely fortunate to escape a fluke loss to Xavier. Such is life in the tournament.

As I've said several times what is most dangerous about this osu team is they are easily the best free throw shooting team I've seen at osu. If they are close you won't pick up points on them at the line.

And I looked at Seth Towns advanced stats and his defense is pretty solid statistically. For the life of me I don't understand why he doesn't see more PT. I can only assume it's health related.

They are just really good team overall. Offensively they've gotten much better through out the year, and they've only really put up one bad performance all season. I don't think they really wow anybody with their style or talent, but they have a team that knows their roles, which is so important. Liddell and Washington are the go to guys, Sueing can do a little bit of everything(honestly, I think he's a little underrated), than Young is defense and rebounding and Ahrens is the 3 point shooter. Walker is another ball handler when he's playing and then the other guys fill it out. It's what makes Holtmann so good.

They could be peaking early. Liddel is on beast mode right now.

His development has been a very nice surprise. I don't think I've seen a guy just take over out of nowhere for osu since Evan Turner.

That's what I'm thinking too. It's a nice luxury to bring someone off the bench like that, that's a threat to score when out there. I'm wondering at this point if having him out there in spurts is best case scenario for him.

Yea. If he comes back next year hopefully he can play more.

Seeing crazy predictions like the BIG getting 12 teams in. Considering PSU Is 7 and 8 I find that hard to believe.

Msu seems out. Maryland may get a bump because of their road wins. But ultimately nine seems probable.

I actually think psu has a decent shot to make it. They are projected to finish 5-2 assuming all games get played. If that's the case, I think they have a fairly good chance to get in.

12 isn't happening. NW, Neb and MSU are all out of it. One/two of MD, PSU and Minn probably aren't getting in either. I'd say 9 for sure. Maybe 10.

I can dog all that. Is crazy there is not that stud true PG in the big 10

Yeah, I feel like often times in the last couple of years there hasn't been. Winston was a really good college player, but even he had his limitations. Carsen Edwards was a stud. But after that, going back some, I think you have to go back to a guy like D'angelo Russell. There are good PG's in the B1G just not at the level of Butler, Mitchell, Suggs and Ayayi.

Yeah I guess you’re right. That post before was supposed to say I can dig all that
