Wow. And I’m just seeing some of the pics in this thread. Correct what I said in the other thread.....this is substantially great photos. That’s after transmitting all those miles. Maybe the signal transmission has gotten even better than I thought.

They're great for the initial pics. Not sure if there's more processing to do.
they haven't put up the antenna yet that will substantially improve their bit rate. Still in test mode making sure everything works as expected. The real pics (and sound) will start coming later this weekend.

Oh that’s right...I forgot they have tools to hear sound. Looking forward to that. Probably nothing but wind, but still.....

The rover, launched July 30, 2020, will land in Jezebel Crater on Mars 3:55 p.m Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021, after seven months of travel. Strapped to the rover's belly is the Mars Helicopter, Ingenuity, for testing the first powered flight on the Red Planet.

Speaking of the helicopter, it will remained attached to Perseverance's belly for 30-60 days while status is monitored and batteries are charged, and in particular, to see if it can survive the -120 deg. F Martian nights. They'll compare battery-charging sessions done during cruise to Mars with those on Mars to help the team plan future charging sessions.

i gotta say, it's cool how much easier it is to fake these outer space accomplishments nowadays.

Photoshop FTW
oh, while they could go the CGI route, I'm glad to see they went back to the old school radio days for making the sound effects.
