EPL 2020/2021

Leicester late season collapse vol 2?

Terrible first half down 0-2 to Newcastle. Should this score hold up, the Foxes are just 5 points ahead of West Ham in 5th while Spurs are 7 back and LFC 8 back, but the Reds have a game in hand.

Leicester's final 3 matches:

@ManU
@Chelsea
v Spurs
Jonny Evans injured during warmups and defense collapses. Yes the collapse is coming. Already has begun with the tie last week. West Ham, Spurs, Liverpool (with game in hand) jumping for joy at this result.

West Ham has the most ideal schedule left here.

Brendan Rodgers the EPL's version of Marty Shottenheimer lol.

So is Leicester going to go 0 for 12 points in these last 4 games including today? Very possible.

Good result for Liverpool. A shame their game in hand is at old trafford though.

What is with Jonny Evans and Granit Xhaka yesterday getting injured during warmups? Would have been better off having a cup of tea before the game.

Probably no chance now. Ugly for them too versus Leeds. Leicester hold our beer. Now West Ham loving this more than anyone probably.

I would think now Chelsea is probably a lock for UCL. Arsenal (lol) and Leicester still left on schedule. IMO one spot left open for Leicester, West Ham, Spurs, and Liverpool. Liverpool need the games in hand badly.

That Chelsea win helps them immensely. (Not like they weren’t going to make the top 4 even if they lost)

LFC got a big 3 points today but you are right, Thursday game at Old Trafford is a must 3 points. Also wouldn’t hurt tomorrow if Everton/West Ham ends in a tie or and Everton win. Still a tough hill to climb.

Yes that win was big yesterday for Liverpool. They must beat United and all the teams need an Everton win against West Ham today.

West Ham though still very unpredictable and that defense of theirs can easily and has let things get away at times. Not guarantees even though they are playing bottom feeders at the end.

My probability of who takes that last spot as of right now:

1) West Ham (because of the schedule only). Goal differential could be an issue though.
2) Liverpool
3) Leicester (because of that schedule only)
4) Spurs (pretty much dead)

West Ham big fail. Seems these wannabees just can't do it when it is needed most. Unlike the big 6 in general. Liverpool now most likely to make Top 4 imo.

Beautiful win by the neighbors across Stanley.

Still I think Leicester is in decent shape from Liverpool considering their up 6 over us because we are at Old Trafford. But I agree, even after today I think West Ham gets in considering their schedule compared to everyone else’s.

Yes but Manchester United will be playing 3rd game in 6 days on Thursday...that is a huge advantage for Liverpool. No way Ole can use his prefered lineup every game here. He is going mix and match the roster here for this stretch and if they beat Leicester Tuesday that Liverpool game is meaningless. Those fans who rioted at Old Trafford did Liverpool a big favor.

West Ham gets in if no ties by them and Leicester. Ties would be killer for them right now. Must win all 3. They were attrotious today. Zero shots on goal in the Everton game.

Or Ole plays no one versus Leicester ... an extreme B Team ... and goes for it against Liverpool thinking ahead to next year, i.e. let's knock Liverpool out of the UCL now and not worry about possibly dealing with them in UCL next year. Intriguing strategy for Ole here.

I could see this but he won’t make it obvious. It’ll be a mix and match but the perceived weaker side of the two will be Tuesday.

I hate the term "Spursy" but that's very much been the story of their season. I think they have the most dropped points from winning positions in the league.

Hurts to say it, but I fully expect them to drop 1 or 2 of their remaining 3 games and not make any european competition next season.
