Alec Baldwin killed crew member Halyna Hutchins on set of Rust

You just said you don’t think he could be considered a serious actor. Sounds like you’re saying he can only do what he’s done before.
that's not type casting.

if I only said "he can only play redneck cable installers" that would be typecasting.

For those of us old enough to remember, he started out in mostly dramas. Red October, anyone?
I watched Beetlejuice the other night

Do you have trouble understanding how acting works? He can’t play serious roles because he hasn’t done them before?

Or you just think everyone should be typecast based on what they are known for?

Let's be clear, a prop gun is a functional firearm and should be treated as such at all times.

Explain to me what you mean by a functional firearm. I didn't know that they were capable of firing a real bullet.

Not sure how to classify that particular role. He wasn't exactly funny or serious

again, not what typecasting is.

I have never seen Larry act in anything, let alone a serious role.

if I were a producer, I would not think "man, I bet Larry the Cable Guy could put out an Oscar winning performance in this role..."

Yes it is a functional firearm capable of firing live rounds, else we would not be discussing this accident.

I've never been around a prop gun so i am ignorant in this respect. I would think hollywood would have come up with something safer for them to use by now.

they are...the bullet is just filled with cotton or something other than a solid at the end so there is no true projectile.

Not all. There are different prop gun types and different blanks. Depends on the need. If they need to see the muzzle flash it is a real gun with a wadding blank. If it is a revolver it may be a real casing and bullet without propellant.

If you’ve seen Larry in anything, you’ve seen him acting. Or do you think that’s what he’s like in real life, typecaster?

At that speed, I would think a piece of wadding can kill a person if they were hit in the head. I'm surprised to learn that all of hollywood acts like guns are the most evil thing created by man and yet they haven't made a safe prop gun for them to use. It's not like they usually have a love for guns so they are experienced gun handlers.

Acting doesn't take common sense or any experience at all. So I guess I shouldn't be surprised to read an anti-gun nut that is often running around with a real gun, would eventually shoot and kill someone.

This all makes sense now.

btw...with this in mind....Baldwin should be charged with involuntary manslaughter and we let the courts figure it out. Killing someone by being stupid .... yeah...I'm good. Go to trial.

it's happened before

The wadding used to hold the gunpowder in place instead of a bullet gets expelled when the trigger is pulled and can cause serious damage – and even death, as was the case when actor Jon-Erik Hexum was killed in 1984.

Hexum was fooling around on the set of the CBS TV show “Cover Up” during a delay in filming. He loaded a revolver with a blank, spun the chamber, put the gun to his temple and pulled the trigger.

The blank’s wad struck his head, fracturing his skull and sending bone fragments into his brain. He died about a week later.

oh shit, there's a clone now?
There was.

They grew him under the garden. Then murdered him and dumped his body in the Reserve.

All I know is if today a white male were to accidently shoot a family member or the neighbor with a prop gun, and that person was injured or killed...in this case, two people were killed, the shooter would be drug through social media and into court.

Democrats would be leading the charge of 1)....how stupid this person must be. And 2)....they would be demanding prison time.

Yep.

again, I'd say the CAR driven by the drunk driver in the accident killed them.
FIFY

If I am reading your prior comments correctly have fun trying to explain to someone that "just the accident" killed a loved one and not the drunk that made a bad choice with driving. If you truly think that way, must be some good crack to keep your ass comfortably numb.

not at all sure why you need to make this about race and how white people are victims...

and no idea why you are making this a political thing...

It's funny how quickly you came in to defend Baldwin even though no one (as you claimed) has intimated that he did this on purpose and even funnier that you write as if you're some kind of expert on acting and movie sets.
