Henry Ruggs charged with DUI resulting in death

Not to mention how many of them are on literal stand-by waiting to drive people. Just no excuse for that kind of stupidity with that kind of access.
That's the point. I would bet the Raiders have a contract with one of them annually to just be ready at all times.

All I'm saying is I would bet half the people have found themselves in a similar situation and decided to drive. That's great that you tell your daughter that. That's exactly what you should do. A lot of us, if not most, have probably had similar talks from our parents when we were young about that very thing. But still found ourselves in a similar situation. There's a good chance that one day your daughter hops behind the wheel when drunk or in the passenger seat when someone else is drunk, even if you taught her the dangers of it. Hopefully not.

We can expect 100% compliance, but that's just not reality. Reality is most of us have done something similar at a young age and could just as easily been the one that was caught with a DUI or hurt someone. However, most of us aren't dumb enough to go 156. Which is why in this case I don't feel bad for what he has coming.

But yeah, sometimes i have a little empathy toward someone who potentially ruined their life when they made a poor decision many of us have made with zero ill intent. Not as much as I have toward the victim obviously.
I got away with it a bunch of times. Not anymore, but for a while I had a dui radius of about 2 miles. I also never went driving like a fucking cunt. I did the speed limit, and drove cautiously. I could have been hit by someone else, and been fucked, but I wasn't hitting anyone on my own.

No excuse anymore.

Exactly. I got very lucky in my youth. I remember (vaguely) driving home with one eye closed so I only saw one road. It was stupid and I was lucky not to hurt someone or myself. That was well before Uber was an option. My 23 year old daughter knows that if she finds herself in that position, I will not question or give her any shit about Uber charges. Just get home safely and I’ll gladly pay for it. If you drive and I find out about it, you lose your car and will have to pay for your own insurance going forward.

My kids are the same. Take an Uber, and I will take you to your car the next day. Idgaf of it costs 50 bucks to get home, get home.

Hmm...didn't take long for the Ruggs truthers to come out.

"That wasn't really his car"
"He wasn't really that drunk"

:facepalm5:

His defenders are disgusting. The girl and her dog were burned to death, screaming:

Review Journal said:
At least three bystanders stopped to help.

Among them was Alexander Hart, a security guard for a nearby condominium community, according to the report. After hearing the crash, he got into his security vehicle and drove to the scene.

When he arrived, the report states, he heard screams coming from the Toyota. The driver was still alive, he told police.

But he couldn’t pull her out, he said, because she was pinned inside the SUV.

The Toyota “was soon overcome with smoke and heat from flames,” and Hart had to back away, according to the report. Tintor’s dog, who was in the back seat, also died.

...yeah, what they said...

...and :rip: View attachment 47397...

...They should add a couple years to his sentence for destroying an American treasure, too...

Amen to that......
Jesus Christ.

I mean, I understand that these guys aren't trying to spend every dime they make, and they need to save money and shit, but come the fuck on. Even if the guy doesn't think he needs to spring for an Uber/cab, don't the teams already have drivers on retainer to avoid shit like this?

I do....you dont need to be rich and famous to have common sense....
What a huuge dumbass.....

I never ever ever ever understand anyone with high profile jobs and high paying jobs get DUI's. For one, you have the money to order an Uber which is a very cheap service and it's quick. Or I am sure you can either have a friend gladly be a designated driver, or I am sure you could pay for such a service. I mean my God there is no excuse. The only explanation is you wanted to go joy driving drunk, therefore you are even more reckless then just driving drunk, you intentionally wanted to go out driving your $200,000 car drunk to joy ride it.

Now insert this being in Las Vegas? Even less of reasons to drive drunk. The city crawls with Taxi's and Uber drivers and they are extremely cheap. You can order a Uber ride and it'll be arrived within 3 minutes and you can get to point B in under $15.

Just with the ease, convenience, and price of Uber and Lyft these days, there is zero reasons to ever get arrested for drunk driving. Shocking that society continues to make such a selfish mistake.

I dont understand why ANYONE drinks and drive these days.....

If you got the money to drink you got the money for a ride home.....

Does not matter what type of job or pay you have.....

Dumbassery is dumbassery.....

I never had that option. My dad drinks every day, I don’t remember him ever being able to drive after 6 PM.

I drove when I shouldn’t have, got lucky. Wouldn’t do it again. I drink everyday too, and when I start drinking, I stay where I’m at

Same here,I got 2 duis to show for it too.....Lived in a town of 3500 people, there was no taxi service....made bad choices, did my time.

This was back in 1987 and 89.....Lost my license until 2005.

When the wife n I got out and about, its Uber time.....

They will never take my license again....EVER!!!!

Confirmed the Raiders have this set up or the league as a whole?

I thought I had read previously the league set this up for all players just to avoid these kinds of tragedies and headlines.
The league might, but the E$PN story said the Raiders have their own service and make the players aware of it.

Leonard Little got 4 years probation and 1000 hours community service. Don’t tell me “ no chance”
Little wasn't going 156mph and didn't have a gun in his car.

Got it. Either way….it’s right fucking there.

Odd fact: If you'll use a service where you can check driving records you'll see lots of football players and coaches have issues with driving erratically, i.e. Dan Mullen had a DUI in 2001 and Lane Kiffin had repeat speeding tickets while living in Boca Raton.

But 156mph? Yep. Get ready for prison!
