thisI love concerts. Hate music festivals.
Or any "stadium" show. It had better be a living legend if I'm at a big show.

Not really. I didn't really rail against them for being sellouts, I just kinda gained greater disinterest in them through their increased popularity. I also knew plenty of people who hopped on the 'sellout' bandwagon - which itself was a popular thing to do and was probably why I didn't.So you were one of those that railed against the black album as a bunch of sellouts? I knew many of them then. Myself, I always resisted what was popular. But, I couldn’t see it with Metallica. They hadn’t sold out. They built their art up with a slick producer finally. And, yeah, a big part of the aim was to increase air play for them (reducing the length of the songs, for example).
It just never struck me as selling out. Maybe Enter Sandman gets that ire because it was the first release of the sellout.
I’ve always felt there were so many better songs on that album that could have gone first, but they knew the backlash was coming. Might as well make Enter Sandman the sacrifice against that.

My last GF dragged me to the Falcons stadium to see Eric Church. Not really my kind of music to begin with, but he put on a decent enough show. Sound was good where we were, but my boss was a few sections over and said they couldn’t tell one song from the next because of the sound qualitythis

Last week I was teaching my youngest brother about Digable Planets.I mostly listen to the throwback stations on my Sirius XM but there are still a few artists I listen to when a new album comes out.
but there are too many "lil" rappers out there and I am super confused trying to follow them.
and mumble rap sucks ass.
give me The Roots and Wu Tang and the good old stuff.
It never fucking fails, every "big" show I go to, there is some entitled old asshole bitching about something. My last GF dragged me to the Falcons stadium to see Eric Church. Fox Theater in Atlanta is the best concert venue I’ve been to. Like 20
Rows up in the second level and it sounded like we were right at the stage and Drive By Truckers, Georgia Satellites and Drivin N Cryin were all on point that night
That’s something I can align with. I got behind the black album, maybe as a counter to the backlash. But, I’ve also really not paid much attention to Metallica since that album. It was the moment of departure from the pantheon that was those first four albums. Not really. Now Eminem on the other hand, I'm firmly railed against him for being a sellout. How you gonna go from shitting all over Brittany Spears to doing a gay ass pop song with Rihanna?
Like Phish?Or any "stadium" show. It had better be a living legend if I'm at a big show.

fuck phish, the fucking goofballs. i have friends who literally worship trey anastasio, i've never understood the appeal.Like Phish?
I'd go to a Phish show...but there are plenty of super fans of any band out there that are just as weird.fuck phish, the fucking goofballs. i have friends who literally worship trey anastasio, i've never understood the appeal.
ehhh yeah, but, phish fans are a breed unto themselvesI'd go to a Phish show...but there are plenty of super fans of any band out there that are just as weird.
I can certainly understand people who don't like their style, but there isn't a better improvisational rock band out there. Maybe never has been. From that standpoint, they're off the fucking charts. The shit they've been doing during this summer/fall tour has blown me away.fuck phish, the fucking goofballs. i have friends who literally worship trey anastasio, i've never understood the appeal.
they really are...but it also looks like they are having a great time. I am not going to shit on them if they are having a good time and are being safe.ehhh yeah, but, phish fans are a breed unto themselves

I was a pretty big fan early to mid 90's, but pretty much completely stopped listening or keeping up with them around '97. Started to get back into them thanks to their SiriusXM channel.ehhh yeah, but, phish fans are a breed unto themselves
I need to listen to that moreI was a pretty big fan early to mid 90's, but pretty much completely stopped listening or keeping up with them around '97. Started to get back into them thanks to their SiriusXM channel.

Most of the content is live, and they regularly live broadcast shows, which is pretty cool. They're doing that with other bands as well.I need to listen to that more
