UW has a lot of new players. Their roster almost entirely turned over this last offseason. I think they’ll play better than they did in that first game. They probably bounce back and win tonight

How the fuck is #12 for UW a D1 player. I've seen him air ball a wide open 3 and air ball like a 3 footer.
 
Forgot Cone transferred to NAU. He should be a really good Big Sky player.

I think that's the kid from Olympia. I believe he was the POTY in the state of Washington. I never got to see him play in HS but I've heard people speak highly of him. I don't think people realize how hard it is to find guys with that kind of size. I've seen 7 footers who absolutely sucked end up in Division 1 (not the P5 level but still).

Also #78 nationally means he's probably not ready to start for a P6 program on Day 1.

usually the super tall types at smaller programs are comically bad lol. Stiffs who do nothing but take up space

Some really intriguing Pac 12 games tonight. Obviously Nova/UCLA is the headliner, but Oregon State/ISU, Stanford/SCU and SMU/Oregon are all very interesting in their own right

Agreed. I’m nervous about the SMU game. Mustangs are a veteran team, Oregon needs to play a cleaner game than they did on Tuesday.
 
Gach granted eligibility for Utah today. Should be a nice boost for the Utes

I wish him well but he was pretty bad for the Gophers last year. I don't think he was 100%, but when he was out there it wasn't good, especially down the stretch. Hopefully he can stay 100%, he was a solid player for the Utes the first time around.

Didn’t watch him much last year but he was a decent defender for Utah in 19/20. Not going to be the main piece but can give them solid minutes IMO
 
First time I have been excited for basketball since Klay’s freshmen year. But no freaking idea how our coach is going to coach a 10 man rotation. Plus how the hell did Pullman Washington become a destination for a 18 year old kid from Africa.

Mixed bag for the PAC 12 yesterday.

The good - UCLA with the headline win. Oregon looked really good against a solid SMU team. Arizona looked good again but against weak competition.

The bad - Stanford loses by 16 on the road against Santa Clara. Beavs lose on the road vs Iowa State.

Overall take:
UCLA, Arizona, USC and Oregon look like very good teams. The bottom half of the conference looks a little soft. Can anyone besides those top 4 emerge? Wazzu shows some promise and I wouldn’t count out Colorado either

I think we'll get a better gauge of Colorado tonight when they play New Mexico. New Mexico is probably a mid tier MWC team, in theory Colorado should beat a team like that, but they struggled in their opener.

Also, USC playing at Temple is an interesting game too. Unusual to schedule a game like that. But would be at worst a Q2 win if they get it. So good resume building opportunity.
