Good morning friends! It's going and it is going mighty fine.
This first pic shows the top of the tank, the bracing is a permanent part of the tank and notice how each of the four openings has a 3/4" recessed lip to accept a piece of glass for a lid. And it is these lids that will keep almost all the evaporation contained to the tank. I am very impressed with this brace system. It is simple and very strong design.
This next picture shows the top of the brace again and the plugs used to fill those screw holes. I did this last evening and it is ready to be sanded and then sealed with Pond Shield. And trust me friends, this Pond Shield is the real deal, this stuff is amazing.
I mentioned a while ago how I learned how to do difficult things alone and with this tank and the tank stand too, I had zero outside help, the only help I got was when I asked the heating and cooling guys if the would carry my six sheets of plywood to the basement and they were SO glad to help! So the fuck was I, was I ever!
And so this last pic shows how I can not only slide the tank laterally between Bunny's work bench and the stand but I am also able to move the tank up and down, all by my lonesome!
The silicone glue that will be used to fasten the four windows will be delivered today, the second and third coats of Pond Shield will be applied today and by Friday it will be ready for glass. How very exciting! (for real!)
