DIY Monster Fish Tank

Lol @ " I had a Koi pond". Let me guess, you didn't build it, and couldn't fix it? I'm right. Gfyywsos
I couldn’t fix it because the dumbass that built it cemented all the rocks in place so you had to tear it apart to replace the liner. I tried patching the bastard but nothing worked. By the time I had it torn down I decided I wanted a fire pit anyway so filled in the hole and bought one. A massive owl had cleaned the fish out anyway.

The worst part was the back wall of the waterfall the guy had used cement block filled with rebar and concrete. Taking that bitch down with a sledge hammer was a chore.

did you buy some work boots when you got your sledge hammer?

No I had everything I needed except I bought a massive crowbar. I needed extra length to pry some of the bigger rocks out.

Paint aquatic type artwork on the inside and line it ALL with glass, it's going to take a crane to move it anyway.
Maybe get a set of dexter 8,000 pound tandem axles under it with 20 inch wheels and low profile tires to move it around and dress it up even more.

Pond Seal was crap.
Oh you fucking clueless dunce! It's called Pond SHIELD, and it is a high tech specialized sealant much too rich for your blood at over $200 per gallon.
As for moisture every sane person knows that is a concern in basements
No shit, dickweed! Even us crazies like a dry basement. Dumb fucker. Cock sucker.

No that project I did by myself. Old house.
Oh come on! Make up your feeble mind, which lie do ya wanna stick with?

I’m with @Wild Turkey. Pond Seal sucks. I dipped my cock and balls in a bucket of that crap before I fucked @Guy Incognito’s grandma, and I STILL got an STD!

Fuck you and your fish tank, Guide Bear!
Well that's what ya get for listening to Turkey Neck... If you just used Pond SHIELD instead of Pond Seal, Guy's granny wouldn't a got ya all sick!

My buddy @Parka is not going to let you talk to me like that.
You just let me know who is picking on you, I will have WORDS with them meanies! But Petey, I remember Slinky from FN and I pretty much steered clear of him then. He was like Edward Scissor Hands with his words with a heavy dose of Don Rickles on the side. Slink would slice 'em up all sarcastic like!

I love to hate him.

Don't let these turds get you too wound up, but keep having fun.

Thanks Pete! Me an Slink are cool as can be any ole good way, we share a home town, Me an Chele and Lebron an Slinky too!

So you know those round widows I cut in my petite baby monster tank? It was a new technique that, as is my modis operendi, I copied!

I copied it from Popeye the Sailor Man. I used my smoking pipe to cut those holes, just like Popeye!

So I did not get the first coat on today. I did get all the window edges cleaned up very nice. They were pretty rough.

First coat first thing on the Morrow, Hear me Roar!

I got the first coat of Pond Shield on today, it's real thick, kinda like painting syrup. So this first coat must dry complete before the next coat is applied. It will need lightly sanded before the second coat and I will also be laying a two inch wide strip of fiberglass along the seams/corners. And then the third coat will be applied before the second coat is fully cured. I'm just following the instructions.

Good morning friends! It's going and it is going mighty fine.

This first pic shows the top of the tank, the bracing is a permanent part of the tank and notice how each of the four openings has a 3/4" recessed lip to accept a piece of glass for a lid. And it is these lids that will keep almost all the evaporation contained to the tank. I am very impressed with this brace system. It is simple and very strong design.

This next picture shows the top of the brace again and the plugs used to fill those screw holes. I did this last evening and it is ready to be sanded and then sealed with Pond Shield. And trust me friends, this Pond Shield is the real deal, this stuff is amazing.

I mentioned a while ago how I learned how to do difficult things alone and with this tank and the tank stand too, I had zero outside help, the only help I got was when I asked the heating and cooling guys if the would carry my six sheets of plywood to the basement and they were SO glad to help! So the fuck was I, was I ever!

And so this last pic shows how I can not only slide the tank laterally between Bunny's work bench and the stand but I am also able to move the tank up and down, all by my lonesome!
I can move it by myself..jpg

The silicone glue that will be used to fasten the four windows will be delivered today, the second and third coats of Pond Shield will be applied today and by Friday it will be ready for glass. How very exciting! (for real!)
