Washington Huskies First Thread Goes to UW

I think on the surface I'd rather DeBoer > Wilcox, but TBH anything is a crapshoot so meh

Gotta love rumor season.

Wilner on:
UW's coach search - heard they are not looking second tier. Trying to go after the big names that teams like Florida, LSU, etc are going after. Thinks they could go 6+mil, but probably not the top 8-9m some are getting.
Odds Cristobal is with the ducks next year - 50/50. Several teams are going after him and he thinks that loss to Utah could really push him to leave. IT was their best shot in a while and he may believe he needs a larger conf to get where he wants to go.
Apple Cup - For some reason he likes UW's chance in the game. Mostly about the match ups. If you look at just matchups and talent, UW should win. If you look at intangibles it would be WSU, but for some reason he likes UW.

Cohen better get this next hire right!
This is a total shit show!

It's going to be DeBoer and this is one of those gets that really can transform this program!

Damn I love it!
I wanted Campbell, hell even Wilcox, but this guy has taken the long slow path up to D1.
I think its a hire that puts a guy here for the next 10-15 years

Rumors swirling about Campbell and an 11am deadline to decide tomorrow on UW with figures around 7.5m/5 years. Coming from non UW sources so take it for what it's worth. It is the silly season and rumors are going to fly.
I have also heard if they can't get Campbell to sign it will be DeBoer.

Still, these things are so fluid I wouldn't be shocked if it was neither.

I would love Campbell, but I think the route is DeBoer. I think what is coming out of UW he's the guy.
Which can be very interesting if he brings Telford along with him.

Remember when it was Pedersen they managed to keep a lid on the whole thing and let Chris have the chance to talk to his players before it leaked out. Cohen did a fantastic job of keeping a lid on it.

I won't believe any rumors until it is announced.

Doesn't mean it isn't worth taking about, but I'm not making any bets on who.

Gotta see more of this from the guys on the bubble and the kids at risk of hitting the transfer portal.

Guess who entered the transfer portal (again) after their head coach left for Seattle?
Ha Ha Ha Lol GIF

Now, he was here — having signed a five-year, $16.5 million contract — subject to a college football coronation, his arrival serenaded by the Husky marching band.

As DeBoer started the sentence, athletic director Jen Cohen sat to his right, staring at the man who ended Washington’s two-week national search. His family — wife Nicole and daughters Alexis and Avery — sat in the front row in matching purple masks, opposite UW President Ana Marie Cauce. Damon Huard — UW’s director of community and external relations, the father of freshman quarterback Sam Huard, and a former Husky signal caller in his own right — stood near the back of the room, decked out in a beige hat and a black vest. Former UW coach Chris Petersen — who assisted Cohen with the national search — silently stood on the opposite side.

I think we all figured Petersen was deeply involved in the 'search'. Damon standing there makes sense.

How many times are you even allowed to do that?
He would be a graduate transfer this year which has always been a thing.
I think it would be hilarious if he returned. He knows this guys offense. Young Huard might just need a lil more seasoning before he's ready for the big stage.

It’d probably be ideal. But also, fuck him.

We should use this as the official Kraken thread in the off-season. Got our coach, everything’s fine for now… Now it’s the Tanev super thread!

Saw that earlier. Loved the announcers response to it.

Looks like haener already transferred to the school. So he's bringing his QB with him.

Morris is finished. Thank God

I want to see it play with him and Huard.
Huard sucked this year for the simple reasons of :

No Blocking
Receivers couldn't catch
And the playcalling/ schemes sucked even for high school ball
