tOfficial PAC-12 Thread

Sounds like November 1st at the earliest. UCLA was named as one of the school who would be vote yes at the moment but they said two other unidentified universities voted no until next week. So for sure Cal was one, but who could the third be? Guessing Oregon or Washington.

Stanford

Yes sir, Cantanzano’s first tweet about it said nothing about Stanford. It said UCLA was leading the push with two other schools, so social media strikes again.

I’m curious to hear the conversation on the television contract. So say they decide to have a mini season but a few schools opt out, are they going to want a share of the tv money rights?

LOL at PAC ... playing 7 games isn't going to get you into the CFP. It amazes me that they simply follow along with whatever the B1G does. No balls. Can't believe the schools don't have the nuts to fire that POS commissioner.

Some good comedy coming out of the PAC:

Larry Scott: "Our schools will have every opportunity to be considered" for the CFP. "There is no minimum number of games."

Oregon president Michael Schill: "This (decision to play) has nothing to do with money. That was never discussed as a consideration."

The committee better get ready to discuss, because 7-O Oregon is going to be tough to leave out.

Not at all IMO. Unless the SEC/ACC don't get 10 games in. Let's say you have UGA, Bama and UF at 10-1, 10-1, 9-1, as SEC games. Not a chance a 7-0 Oregon gets in playing 3-4 less games. I am assuming Clemson at 12-0, and ND at 11-1. Have no idea what that B12 is going to do based on what we've seen so far.

Look, the PAC fucked up bad. That's on them. If other conferences get 11 - 12 games in, and if you have a 2nd place team that is 10-1, or 11-1, they will get in before 7-0 PAC team, IMO.

Let's not forget that you PAC fans have for years gone on and on about the SEC playing one less IC game. One less game. Now you are going to tell me playing 4 less games is no biggie. GTFO with that.

The CFP is a joke this year no matter what. Don't give a rats ass about it.

Just glad we'll have conference games this year and pac12 fb during the holidays. Believe tops in the PAC still qualify for a NY6 bowl this year. I'll take it.

Go Dawgs!!!

Wouldn't be the Holiday season without the Ducks beating the pups

It's great there's gonna be some games, but it sucks a 7 game schedule probably wont get a PAC team in. It also blows we wont be able to see O play Ohio State. I wish they could still make that game happen.

Let me be clear ... I am happy you are playing. I love CFB of all types. I watch on Saturdays from 11am to 2am. Some of the more enjoyable games have been those crazy ass 2am finishes in the PAC. I think you have some of the best venues - Auten, UW, USC, ASU (I've been there for a game so don't tell me I'm wrong). I'd love to have series with all those teams and I go to all big away games. I'm just pissed that the B1G and PAC thought that they could lead everyone to the disaster they have experienced. And then to so obviously backtrack when they saw everyone else playing. I hope you guys fire the shit out of your crappy commissioner and get someone who bring the PAC back to the level of the other conferences in football. CFB is best when we have good West Coast football.

FIFY

Good point. That's another one to mourn. But, hell! I gotta admit I'm just happy to watch football. I was so desperate for football I'm still telling folks about the Oklahoma State Tulsa game.

The last thing the committee wants is a P5 team to finish undefeated and not make the playoff. It would really damage the legitimacy of the CFP. It will be interesting for sure

Not even close ... you guys whine and moan about the SEC playing 8 IC games, while you play 9. Now you think you can play 4 games less, meaning 4 opportunities for a loss, and somehow that's the same as a 10 game SEC or ACC slate? Stop. And it's self inflicted. You didn't have to follow along like the B1Gs bitch. Hell, you couldn't even get the re-launch right, waiting a couple weeks.
