The Ford Maverick is coming back! As a Truck...kinda!

Looks like the top of the line Lariat with most everything is around $33k sticker price.
With the base somewhere around 25-26k
That doesn't sound bad.
Have to look at one up close.

XLT pretty much loaded up/front wheel drive = $27840 MSRP

Not sure how any other pickup brand is going to even come close to this price.

Ford typically is generous with their option packages as well so you get more bells and whistles for your money. Toyota will take something like a rear view camera or leather seating and make you pay $4,000 for an upgraded package that has crap you don't care about to get them.

Has anyone pre-ordered one yet without actually seeing it, touching it, sitting in it, driving it.???.

It's not something I would do, being a brand new model never seen before.

Ford ought to just send every Dealer in the U.S. 1 of these just for demonstration purposes; not for sale, but to order off of.

It says that Ford already has 100,000 'reservations' ordered

That is pretty ballsy.
Me personally; no way I'm buying a truck I've never even seen before, much less ride and drive.

It also said that Ford won't be putting the low priced Mavericks on the Dealer Lots because there's no profit in it (exactly what I said they would do by the way) which is what crushed Ranger sales originally. You'll have to 'order' those, they won't be there for you to drive.

100,000 already.
That seems like a huge number at this stage of the game.

If you want an idea of what they will look like go see a Hyundai Santa Cruz...

A unibody truck just doesn't do it for me.

What is that, like 2 years late to the party.
Between the chip shortage and the pandemic, many new cars/trucks/suv's have been delayed
My understanding it more than just a new skin

I was talking about the initial roll out, before the pandemic.
It took Ford more than 2 years to do it. I thought maybe they might have released those at that time.

I would have bought one then.

I haven't been back to the Dealer, but took my mothers Ford to get an oil change 2 months ago.
Not one new car or truck on the lot.

And they usually have hundreds of trucks.

Shit is all out of whack.
I drive by my cities auto row and it looked like a vast empty waste land.
Except for the Audi/Porsche dealership
