Pelini killed the Blackshirt program.

Ndamukong Suh didn't even get a Blackshirt. Think about that.

Since stipends....all of them are dead. The schools located in a nice climate, preferably within driving distance of a beach, and who have a great booster program will win the majority of the championships to come.

Vanderbilt was mentioned....not enough boosters or interest to generate the payment required to get the top players in all of the positions.

Dude, you have jumped the rails. You're a zealot. Nebraska is cold, a long way from where the talent is most often growing up and a fading memory for even older fans. End of story. It's not going to take a good coach to bring Nebraska back; it's going to take an act of God.
He answered your retarded question with other examples. Major derpage.

The fact so many people love to shit on Nebraska shows that the program isn't dead it's just waiting for a spark. But sure you keep trying the passive aggressive approach, it conceals your intentions as well as any of the rest 😂😆😂

Quit worrying about the Blackshirts. Get over it,” coach Bo Pelini said. “We didn’t play well enough. It had nothing to do with Blackshirts or yellow shirts or white shirts, or whatever the hell it is.
“We got our butts kicked. It’s not about Blackshirts. It’s about executing on game day when we’re out there in red and white, and we didn’t do that
.” - Bo Pelini

Pelini and Frost were hired because the boosters and fan base wanted them. I'm not sure at the time who else could have gotten the job over them at the time.
Saban, Urban, or Dabo over Frost maybe?

Just know that Venables is already an elite coach. He packed the stadium for the spring game and Oklahoma won. They're coming for you Saban.

That's all you need to know.

I think you mean NIL, because "stipends" have been permitted since 2015.

How have USC, Florida, Texas, and Florida St done since?

when you tell people the culture at nebraska is different i wonder if they in their pea brains believe it was just naturally lost and not intentionally destroyed by calihan and peeni

Correct. My mistake. Most schools are just not going to have the resources to compete against Texas, Alabama, USC type of booster programs and the money those local communities offer.

Pelini was another guy who had a chip on his shoulder and didn't want the legendary Blackshirt program undermining his desire to establish his own 'Defensive Guru' prowess.
He had learned defense (as a position coach) in the NFL from legends. He was a good D-Coordinator in the couple of years he had under Solich, then when he was D-Coordinator for LSU's Natty.
The problem is football in general adapted to those defenses and left Pelini standing there in his tighty-whities.
His defenses at his second stint at Nebraska were some of the worst ever when it came to yards given up, points scored, etc. Suh masked that.
He was a failure at (FCS) Youngstown St.
He was no "guru". He only knew what he'd learned from others in the NFL.
He was fired by LSU after one season as D-Coord there in 2020.

So Oklahoma and Ohio St are dead, right?

They have history and boosters....but the beaches suck. I'm sticking with a warmer climate in this debate. Studs like to see titties and ass. Advantage the Gulf and Pacific coast.

Meh.... Warmer climates and beaches have been around since the onset of CFB back in the 1890's.

Yes...it's always been a struggle for some schools. So, places like Standford offered a better education and the understanding that life most likely doesn't include football. And in doing so, they could still get one or two studs that did enough to get them to a decent bowl game. A hope.

Often there's a kid that stays local because he's all proud and shit of where he's from.

But offer any stud $100K to be the face of an advertisement campaign, and his parents will make him go. Education and pride be damned.

You know Frost went to Stanford out of Wood River, Nebraska high school right?

Bill Walsh offered him a scholly and he was there for 2 years before transferring back to Nebraska.
I never did understand that because Frost was far away from an NFL prototype pocket passer.

No...I don't know the story and so I'm not understanding the relation to our discussion.
