the wording is simply 5 highest ranked conference champions.
no conference is specifically named.
while majority of the time, yes, it will probably play out this way it, it doesnt have to be this way.
there is always a chance of like Fresno going undefeated beating both Michigan and UCLA winning the Mountain West and Tulane going undefeated beating Kansas State and Oklahoma and winning the AAC and both being higher ranked than Kansas state who wins the Big XII at 10-3

It doesn't say that a conference is guaranteed to go.

It just lists the conferences.
 
Assuming top 10 finish? He only has three. 2016 OSU, 2016 Wisky, and 2022 Utah.
Consistently going 10-2 every year all but ensures he won't get a top 10 win in the postseason. Maybe in the new playoff they'll get a better shot.

they might be the school that benefits the most from the expanded CFP. They can beat pretty much anybody not named Michigan/Ohio State

They literally went 7-6 both of the last 2 years.
 
eh sorry i saw the other post and my brain thought we was talking about Wisconsin for a min there.

yeah, Wisconsin benefited most when the B1G was split and they played in the B division.

If they can't beat michigan this year, Franklin has to go.

Thankfully he won't have to worry about that, barring a fairly unlikely conference championship or playoff matchup. They dodge each other in the regular season.
