2021 season thread

It's a shame the end had to be such a clusterfuck and a curb on the track being a big part of it. I thought this was a pretty good race until the curb came apart and took out half the field.

I love me some Allmendinger. Kaulig is making a mistake picking Haley over Dinger for next year.

And I hate Denny Hamlin, but he has every right to go punch Briscoe after that. Taken out from the lead from a penalized car you're not even really racing anymore.
 
Kaulig is gonna be my favorite team when Harvick retires. They went from basically field fillers in the Busch Series to one of the top teams in the Series, and I have no doubt they'll be successful in the Cup Series.

Dinger still had a shot regardless, but that took Denny out of any shot at the win and gave Larson a pretty sizeable lead in the regular season standings.

I thought Chase Elliott should have cold cocked Hamlin when Hamlin dumped him at Martinsville when Chase was still looking for his first win. I think Hamlin should cold cock Briscoe now. And I still won't like anyone mentioned other than Dinger.

With Reddick winning both stages and salvaging a 21st place finish, he would up having a pretty good points day.
 
the big winner of the track fubar.
Ryan Newman.
Was 34th one lap down after sustaining damage when he get turned earlier in the race.
Got lucky dog for the overtime. Jumped upto 24th after all the wrecked cars & cars with penalties for pitting early & whatnot.
When all the carnage cleared in the end. Got a top ten!
 
I liked what Austin Dillon had to say. Something like “It sucked when the curb came apart, but after they took that curb out, it’s up to the drivers to make the corner”

The second red flag wasn’t on the track, it was all on supposed road course specialist, Michael McDowell jumping the curb

funny thing is McDowell mentioned before that restart he was going to be really aggressive. At least he didnt lie. :rolleyes2:

BTW was it ever mentioned why the 23 didnt get a penalty?

He did. They made Bubbles start at the tail end for the final restart.

it must have been very very late. because they were double filed & he was still in position last I saw.
 
Michael McDowell and Aric Almirola qualifying for playoffs proves they are a joke. If they’re gonna have the most idiotic system to determine a champion in sports, they need to at least make it to where a win only gets you in if you’re also in the top 20 in points
 
Harvick and my Cardinals have a lot in common. They both just tease me, then let me down.
