2022 Season Thread

LOL, I knew that JGR car winning would have Chewie all wound up. :laugh3:

What happened to Richmond. Used to be one of the better tracks on the schedule, now it's one of the worst. When split pit strategies are the only thing worth paying attention to, might be time to overhaul the thing. Dover only has one race now, but somehow Richmond still gets two. And Denny Hamlin won, so easily the worst race of the season so far.

Nah bruh. Richmond has always been kinda lowkey shitty. It's a "short" track that races more like a mile and half. There's basically only one groove so its prone to parading long green flag runs with not a lot of action.

I remember a lot of good races at Richmond in the late 90’s and early 00’s. Only good thing I can say about it now if there’s enough tire fall off to make pit strategy important

But with Harvick clearly on his end of career slide, I’m happy anytime he gets a top 5

Apparently some losers are threatening Hailee Deagen.

Sick fucks in this world. She’s only 20. She can become what NASCAR wanted Danica to be

Ty Gibbs just took some swings at Sam Mayer. Mayer’s helmet was off. Gibbs kept his helmet on. Don’t know what Gibbs is mad about. Cassill was underneath Mayer and forced him into Gibbs and he just moved his teammate for a win last week.

Probably the top up and coming talent, but he’s making a lot of enemies

That’s three years in a row we’ve had a Gibbs driver and a JRM driver fighting. Gragson-Burton, Hemric-Gragson, Gibbs-Mayer

Didn't watch it live but that clip doesn't so the genesis what I saw on Twitter. The #1 overdrives it a bit on the last turn when the 19 and 54 are still side by side and he ends up clipping the 54 in the left rear, all but ensuring he can't get a drive off and re-pass the 19 (I doubt he would have anyway based on the clip I saw). So I do see how Gibbs can be upset with that. But its a bitch move everything after that. Threw some nice punches though I'll give him that. Better form than about 98% of other driver fights

Mayer tried to pull a bump a run for that 100k deal, but Landon Cassill kinda ruined his plans.

I can understand him being mad, but he did just move John Hunter Nemechek pretty aggressively for the win just last week and JHN was his teammate, and I like a good brawl, but take the helmet off.

But both of those guys are teenagers. Teenagers make stupid decisions. Where were the pit crews?

Nascar official injured during the fight. Meyer told Gibbs to take his helmet off if he is going to push someone, then called him a jackass. That is when the fight started. Gregson's crew member yelling at one of Gibbs crew members tell your chickenshit driver to take his helmet off if he is going to fight. Meyer in his post race interview says Gibbs has a weak punch, but Meyer's eye has numerous colors of the rainbow around it.

Also after the first push you can hear someone off camera yelling "don't take his shit Sam."

Gibbs is going to be the next villain of Nascar. Bumping people out of his way, but not liking it when he gets bumped. Kinda sucks because the kid can drive.

He's 19. He'll learn. But I think he kinda put a target on his back for the time being.

Apparently Hailee Deegan and Lawless Allen had heated words after the truck race on Thursday night too, which is weird because it was Johnny Sauter that cleared himself up and doored Deegan into the wall with like 10 laps to go in stage one for 22nd place. Don't know a damn thing about the guy, but Lawless Allen is a cool name.

Pretty disappointing race for Martinsville TBH.

Best car won, and by far the least douchey of the Hendrick drivers.

Crazy how the Busch race had like 15 cautions for cause and was a wreckfest and tonight the only cautions for cause were for debris and a flat tire.

Also unusual to see Austin Dillon outclass Reddick.

What a snoozefest to freeze your nuts off at.

Can I just say I hate this fucking car. These last 2 races have been boring(really this whole season). Short track races are my favorite and this new car made them boring as hell.

It’s improved the racing at the intermediate tracks, but it kinda ruined Martinsville. Richmond has been a snoozer for a while now though. Just a shame they made Bristol a dirt track in the spring. I love dirt track racing, but leave Bristol alone

I think the tire was just too good at Martinsville. The weather being so cold didn't help either. I think we would've seen a mich different race had it been 20 degrees warmer.

Cold weather, track not taking rubber and Goodyear probably going too far the other way after so many blowouts earlier in the season

Kyle Busch about to win. Don’t know why Briscoe, Bell and Suarez pitted there at the end of the stage
