GAME 2023 NFL Draft Thread

Big fan of Jack Campbell. Big fucking reach there though.

Gibbs would’ve been there at 34. Thinking Campbell would’ve too.

Didn’t trade up for a guy who is going to miss most of the season. So improvement there.
Couldn't have said it better myself. Exactly how I feel.

Giant hideous necklaces must be the thing this year

Addison on the opposite side of Jefferson? Whew

ughh, texted the girl i've been courting about how pumped i was that the eagles drafted this cat, we've been going back and forth with her being a fucking cop. cat may have made a mistake give him a break, been at it for over an hour, fucking crazy. she feels otherwise. wasn't expecting this reaction, she doesn't even like football, but i guess she googled (she did say she was a pats fan until aaron hernandez)

I'm guilty of racing friends when I was younger... none that resulted in deaths, but that may have been as a result of our shitty cars that couldn't really go that fast.

At least the Lions and Packers reached on their picks too
I live 5 minutes from the Lions Headquarters -- I'm ready to drive over there and start fist fighting people. We have the 12th and 18th pick and we draft two of the least valued positions in the NFL (MLB and RB) and we draft two guys who would have most likely been there in the 2nd round.

Fuck me -- this draft was a worst case scenario for me. If someone said the Lions were going to draft a RB and MLB in the 1st round prior to the draft -- I'd have laughed them out of the room. Now we have a new RB and MLB.

4 WR’s in a row?

yeah, i think i get where she's coming from, based on where she's coming from and the microscope directed at her.

RB and LB, way to pick up the easiest spots to fill on a roster in the 1st round.

Elite playmaker and an elite run stopper. I’ll take it.

And we added the 34th pick.

Gibbs is nice (as are a number of other RBs in every draft). can't speak on the LB.

Lions selected Iowa LB Jack Campbell with the No. 18 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

A unanimous All-American who brought home Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year accolades, Campbell (6’5/249) was named the 2022 Butkus Award recipient given to the top linebacker in the country. He plays the position with a cerebral approach befitting a three-time Academic All-Big Ten student and is a savant at diagnosing play flow. The rangy MLB rarely lets rushers escape his grasp, which is reflected in his superb 8.9% missed tackle rate and 107 run stops over the last two seasons. The mechanics with which he plays the game are unassailable, but his length can hurt him in coverage and in change of direction situations. Campbell is at his best scraping and challenging ball carriers at the point of attack, though his 31.875” arms hurt his ability to out-leverage massive linemen. His Combine performance was near-perfect, with Campbell posting 97th+ percentile results in jumping and agility testing to go with a 92nd percentile 1.58s 10-yard dash to combine for an eye-popping 9.98 RAS. His play style and athleticism are reminiscent of former Boise State LB Leighton Vander Esch.
