2024 Recruiting Thread

Another shit signing day for Day ahead.

Houston being reported to Bama

McClellan possibly flipping to Oregon.

Jeremiah Smith nobody knows still

And picking up nobody, just losing

My heads gonna explode if he at least doesn't fire the useless "special teams coordinator" who brings nothing in terms of anything and his unit has been ass under him.

LJsr really needs to go too, we are going to deal with this every year until he does. He's too old and he refuses to get with the times when it comes to recruiting and when it comes to coaching hes 100% lost his touch, DL development the last 3 or so years has been non existent. Also that looming retirement that's coming anyways makes it easy for schools like Bama to swoop in and flip a Houston type.

Birm (Ohio State Insider) on 97.1 the fan
"LJ is not retiring, but it seems like people around Alabama have gotten in his (Houston) head"
Basically people at the Woody have gotten nervous but nothing has actually been said and they don't know for sure if he is actually flipping.
"Never really wanted to go anywhere else but now is reluctant to believe LJ even though he has called him a father figure"
Says none of it makes any sense.

Bama, "...has convinced the folks close to the kid to lie to him for selfish purposes and muddy the water.”

Bush league by Bama if true but that's recruiting. And he needs to be fired if hes not gonna retire or given a meaningless position that's like a title only thing if they really want to keep him on board for some reason. If LJ Sr is telling kids to their face he’s not retiring and they still don’t believe him, that is reason number 20 why it is time to move on from LJ Sr.

And WR Jeremiah McLellan (4* Top 100 overall #16 WR in the 247 composite) officially flips to Oregon. This isn't too big a deal as long as Smith still signs, but still sucks considering how signing days seem to end for us now a days.

It seems like forever since Ohio State has had NSD and the weeks leading up actually go positively for us. We only lose guys now, no big late additions, only big losses.

Now it looks like there's actually smoke for Smith flipping at the literal last minute to Miami. That would just be icing on the cake of a shit signing day for Ohio State.

Houston is from Atlanta.. those recruitments are always tough

Saw a picture of his signing day chair.. had his desk tag with an Ohio State logo

Oklahomas Xavier Robinson just won't back to back Oklahoma high school player of the year and back to back State titles. Very rare. Can't wait to see Taylor Tatum but equally ready to see what this bruiser can do.

lol word is Tatum is not signing today.. gonna wait til February 👀

That means literally nothing especially with now if Miami came swinging with a NIL offer nobody could say no to at the literal last second.

And yea. I know this is a "loser" mentality but we should pretty much just stop recruiting DL and RBs from the south because they always seem to flip on us at the last hour to stay in the South. Focus on guys from elsewhere you like and can develop who will actually stick in the end,

Had 27 verbals. 26 have signed. This is the least I’ve kept up with recruiting in a long time. Don’t know if the other guy is a flip candidate or is just waiting until later in the day to sign.

Not a bad day though. Was a little worried a few would follow Raiola

Nevermind. Apparently the last one just signed. Haven’t heard any flip rumors, so that’s probably it for UGA today

The big news in the next hour is KJ Bolden. Originally committed to UGA. Flipped to FSU. Flirting with Auburn. Auburn and UGA dropping bags at the last minute and it seems FSU is out. Auburn v. UGA fight. Dad and KJ want UGA, momma wants the bags.

He goes to Buford that's 45 minutes from UGA and they never go to UGA - it's fucking maddening. That's where Ravioli played in his 4th year of HS. So, while Fong dropped his balls for UGA, we ain't falling for that. All Auburn.

Jeremiah Smith sticks with Ohio State, thankfully.

He knew Hartline will make him a lot more money over his lifetime than any short term NIL money in college

Man did that kid get a lot of free shit from those Florida schools lol

Seems like he really jerked them around lol. Both Miami and FSU insiders were "very confident" in a flip up until the announcement. That "info" was probably coming from the people who were feeding him the free shit.

But he really didn't seem like he was jerking them around. Anytime he was interviewed publicly about it he said he isn't changing anything as long as Hartline is at tOSU even when that interviewer was someone connected with Miami, FSU, or Florida. It was always the same answer: I want all the info I can get in case Hartline were to leave Ohio State

Miamis best bet wasn't to offer him more NIL money, it was to assassinate Brian Hartline

The NIL money angle is pretty much all Miami has right now lol. It's their only bet they are sticking with.

We should be able to outbid Auburn like we did with George Pickens

QB and WR were great for this class

CB - Great haul

Safety - Wishy washy, we whiffed on all of our major target and ended up with a lower 4* and a 3* project. I guess they are counting Garrett Stover as a Safety right now tough, not sure that sticks, but I do like him a lot.

I'll still call RB good, even though we lost Lyle, Peoples is a strong back.

OL meh, Ian Moore is a good grab but the rest are development prayers, I know OL is the hardest to project but it would be nice to finally win some battles for elite level OL recruits.,

TE - 2 decent prospects. I'll call it a win.

DL is pretty much a total loss. Only 1 and it's a development project 3*

LB we only took one and Pierce is a nice get for only taking one.
