2025 Recruiting Thread

Good to know ... maybe more PT here. Me likey.
Not sure how involved UGA has been with him, but like I said earlier, there's been smoke around this kid and OSU since like June. I'd personally rather have him than a couple of the more redundant backs we'll have next year, that's for sure. We don't have a scatback type like him really.

You may lose out because of playing time. No way you get “outbid”. Y’all have more money than many Latin American countries like Peru!
And every year that passes that we don't win a natty, the NIL fund grows.

Yes, my point was OSU has Bo Jackson, another top 5 RB in the class, along with another RB Isiah West. We also have James Peoples in the 2024 class who is likely the starter next year along with two other RBs already on the roster. There's also been some chatter about Judkins not being a lock for the draft, so if it's simply about competing with other guys OSU isn't the right spot.
peoples the starter? oh yeah we winning in columbus labor day weekend #HookEm

If he's worried about other RBs in the class, he'd be making a strange choice to come to OSU.
He is a Saban commit. Communicationnwith current staff has been almost non existent. He hasn’t even visited since DeBoer was hired. Good player and I wish he would have stuck tho

Ohio State loses Zahir Mathis, that knocks the DL class down a notch.

Looks like SEC money is coming into play, the insiders are saying hes not going to end up at Penn State but outside of the B1G (looks like Texas A&M may be the likely destination)

I'm hearing PSU from the OSU folks, and that also there's likely another piece coming to OSU that pushed this one over the finish line for Mathis.

The Penn State people are saying they aren't getting him. It's turned into a bidding war situation pretty much. Texas A&M, Miami and Florida State coming hard with the cash offers.

I think Mathis is a good recruit but he's not the type you unload the bank for if you're us. Still kinda sucks though.

We have cash and a history of putting DE's in the NFL. Would be smart of him to sign here. Not sure why anyone would pick FSU right now unless they are hell bent on a guaranteed starting spot with no competition.

Lol the low 4* QB who was committed to Michigan jumped from Michigan to Florida State, talk about going from train wreck to train wreck

LOL yeah if that's the case this was an easy thanks/no thanks from OSU I'm sure. Our DL class is already loaded and we're still very much in on Stewart, who I would greatly prefer anyhow.

Mathis himself has pretty much indicated that it's a highest bidder wins situation, i'd rather not have those types of players out of HS, those are the ones who leave quickly usually when things dont go how they want right away.

Oh right, our resident TX recruiting expert chiming in.
it's what i'm here for.. San Antonio'd

Hope you get him.. increases our chances with Hilson

Imagine a tOSU fan complaining about others spending more money. C'mon. You guys went all ATM this past year. You aren't allowed to complain about others spending money.

Extra credit for comparing UM to 1-9 FSU.

I wasn't complaining. Just stating the fact that we aren't going to spend as much money on HS kids as some of the SEC schools (and FSU & Miami) i'd much rather focus more money on proven players in the portal like we did this year.
