Talk about a meteor game! That's more like a comet game.Michigan vs Florida State would be a interesting game from the comedy of ineptitude stand point.

That's actually what most of the top schools do. At least Bama and UGA.I wasn't complaining. Just stating the fact that we aren't going to spend as much money on HS kids as some of the SEC schools (and FSU & Miami) i'd much rather focus more money on proven players in the portal like we did this year.
It's not "going A&M" anymore, it's "going Oregon".Imagine a tOSU fan complaining about others spending more money. C'mon. You guys went all ATM this past year. You aren't allowed to complain about others spending money.

We are spending more than ever, just everyone else is playing the same game instead of sitting back and crying about it. The winning strategy will be a mix of HS recruits and transfers. Need young players and those who are in it for one year then off to the NFL.I think trying to buy whole recruiting classes is going to be a failing strategy, it might take some schools multiple years to figure that out though. A&M to their credit seems to have walked it back this year.

Ole Miss is showing the downside of this kind of method - wild inconsistency. Beat Georgia by nearly 3 TDs? Sure. Lose to two unranked teams, one being UK that is 1-6 in conference? You got it.- Ole Miss has impressed.
- As much as I hate to admit it, Colorado and Deon have surprised me.
It's gonna be hilarious when CU gets smoked in a bowl game. Luckily they will have a built in excuse in that Shaduer and Hunter won't be playing and an interim coach will be leading the team.Ole Miss is showing the downside of this kind of method - wild inconsistency. Colorado got smoked by Nebraska and has beaten nobody worth a shit this year.
Colorado is the upside of this ... start slow, lose an early game, but work your way back into the conference championship and you land a spot. That is exactly what this CFP-12 was designed to do ... give teams a chance who have a tough early start due to lack of experience, or early injury.Ole Miss is showing the downside of this kind of method - wild inconsistency. While I agree, let's look at Colorado. Deon appears to have done a big turnaround, and likely won't need to to as heavy into the portal. If he recruited high school even at a mediocre level, his model might work for more sustained success. He will have more kids looking at Colo not just because he's Deon, but because they are getting better.I think trying to buy whole recruiting classes is going to be a failing strategy, it might take some schools multiple years to figure that out though. It's an upside if you don't have to worry about getting smoked in the OOC and dropping another game in conference because your conference is so shitty, I guess, but nobody is mistaking them for an actual contender.Colorado is the upside of this ... start slow, lose an early game, but work your way back into the conference championship and you land a spot. I hope it turns out to be a failing strategy. But A&M, Oregon, etal, including your buckeyes, don’t seem to mind paying whatever they have to at all. It is when the lessers start crying uncle that things might get “walked back”. Even then, I doubt it gets rained in very much. So, you would rather replace them with the no. 5 team in the B1G? That would be 7-3 Illinois? Or 6-4 Iowa? It's an upside if you don't have to worry about getting smoked in the OOC and dropping another game in conference because your conference is so shitty, I guess, but nobody is mistaking them for an actual contender.
I'd sooner replace them with the no. 14 team in the Big Ten, 5-5 Nebraska. You know, the ones that beat Colorado by nearly 3 TDs this season? So, you would rather replace them with the no. 5 team in the B1G? That would be 7-3 Illinois? Or 6-4 Iowa?
Now, the SEC might have a better argument, or even the no. 2 team in the ACC. But it makes for a way better sport for every P4 conference to know they can play their way into the CFP. Let's see what happens when they get there. TCU surprised a lot of people before they ran out of gas.
C'mon ... you mean the ones that have lost 5 games since. Be real. Who knows, one day you may lose an early game, say against, Oregon and have a need to work your way back into contention.I'd sooner replace them with the no. 14 team in the Big Ten, 5-5 Nebraska. We lost by one point on the road to the #1 team in the nation. Not really comparing apples and apples there.C'mon ... you mean the ones that have lost 5 games since. Be real. Who knows, one day you may lose an early game, say against, Oregon and have a need to work your way back into contention.
And no, we don't need 5-5 B1G or SEC teams. SMH

Yeah of course I don't want a 5-5 team in the CFP, that's not the point. The Colorado method of going portal crazy might work for a season in a shit conference like they're in, but there isn't a single real contender that can win like that consistently.
lord knows i don't like Baylor.. but I think they are the best team in the Big12 right now.. they are playing their best football in years right nowColorado has beat a bunch of very below average Big 12 teams. One of those was miracle luck to beat a meh 6-4 Baylor team. These are games they should probably win at this point and we are supposed to pretend like Deion is re-inventing the wheel.
Their other L was also to a Kansas State team whos proving to not be very good down the stretch (they have lost 2 in a row one of those was to a awful Houston team)
They avoided Arizona State Iowa State and BYU in the regular season. Their last 2 games are against 4-6 Kansas and 3-7 Oklahoma State. Basically they were gifted the easiest path to the BIg 12 title game possible.
