AL Central Talk

Twins add Lopez and Mahle, not horrible but a bat would have been nice!

Would have liked to see Rodon come over.

Mahle's rebounded pretty nicely from a poor start. He had a 7.01 ERA on May 3 and it's down to 4.40. His stats over that span:

13 starts, 78.2 IP, 3.55 ERA, 3.73 FIP, 61 H, 25 BB, 88 K, .212/.276/.379 against

Reds were also not a good defensive team

Lol @ this bum Indian errr Guardian squad being in 1st in mid August.

that lineup has been much better than anticipated. Some good looking pieces in Kwan/Gimenez/Rosario/Naylor to go along with Jose Ramirez.

I thought the division was the White Sox easily ... if any team could take them down, it would be the Detroit Tigers. The FBI just raided my house and on the warrant was one thing .... My MLB expert card (they took it right outta my hands). If you are not impressed by the Cleveland Guardians or the Minnesota Twins, they are coming for you.

I'm not saying that the other 3 aren't useful players but one of those guys looks like a motherfucking star.

Also if you are looking for someone a little under the radar Jose Rodriguez (CHW) might be breaking out. He's been improving every month and now we're starting to see new skills. Just 1 HR in his first 92 AA games but 7 in his last 13. Gotta consolidate all of the skills but to me he's looking like someone worth talking about.

Also leading the league in SBs.

the strikeout rates are impressive for how young he's been versus his competition

He handles the bat really well, I've seen a lot of the same things from him in the last two years that I initially liked about Gimenez.

So ridiculous they can't just automatically review a play like this. I guess the game going fast is more important than getting it right.

Thankfully the Guardians still managed to win

"out" - but Francona already wasted his challenge earlier in the game.

No disrespect to Brandon Hyde (who I think is a good manager), but Terry Francona took a team picked by most to finish 4th or 5th to being Division Champions and one win away from the ALCS.

He is the rightful Manager of the Year.

:(

Guardians have done a hell of a job developing pitchers the last decade and it looks like that could continue with the likes of Espino/Allen/Bibee/Williams.

Andres Gimenez finishes 6th in MVP voting and bats 7th on the Guardians. Francona is not a bad manager, why is this such a blind spot for him? Gimenez should be getting way more PAs than he has and than he apparently will continue to..

I honestly had no idea he's batted 7th, he shuffled around the 5-7 spots all year. Surprised he didn't crack his way into the top third. Rosario had a nice season, but there's no justification to have him in the #2 spot over Gimenez.

Speaking of Giminez

7 years for the 7+ win player that Tito bats 7th

Good to see though, happy for him and the team. I hope they have plans to eventually slide him over to shortstop, too.

Given there was talk of trading Rosario this off season I figures Gimenez would be a natural SS. But I really like Rosario and hope they lock him up too
