Anyone Feel Like 50 Kicked Your Ass?

The main issue I have (and it was the same with the right one) is that I am bad about resting it completely, I keep using it more than I should be. But I live alone so if something has to be done I'm the one that does it. I'm definitely not shoveling snow this winter though, that's for damn sure
I read somewhere that almost all blue collar men need rotator cuff surgery by age 60 to participate in sports. I knew mine was trashed when I couldn't play catch with the grandkids.

Original injury at age 15 and again in my late 30s.

Yep I tore the right one playing baseball when I was 18, aggravated it again my senior year of college and then it came back with a vengeance 20 years later. Now the left one wants to party too apparently

Stickhandling is very painful and I have no power on my shot/pass at all (it's my bottom hand). Slap shots are completely out of the question. I played through it for a while when it was my right shoulder but I can't do it with the left, all I can really do right now without pain is flick the puck using my wrists.

I didn't injure them playing hockey, it was just age and lousy sleeping positions I think.
So it's bad enough that it kills you even with arms-down side-to-side motions... Sorry, dude; that sucks. I imagined you'd get some discomfort from those motions, but didn't suspect it was bad enough to affect you that severely.

I've played volleyball my whole life. My right rotator cuff has always given me minor discomfort and has always been prohibitive in power, but never as bad as you're describing. I've evolved my volleyball game as I age to use more compact overhand motions to help diminish the negative impact of those motions and reduce wear. Did you find yourself doing the same with some of your motions on the ice?

Oh definitely. I was never a big windup kind of shooter anyway but I've become way more "wristy" now. But there's not much I can do about stickhandling unfortunately, anytime I put any weight on on my stick with my left hand I feel it all the way up my arm and I'm just not useful out there like that. You try to work around it but sometimes you just "have to" move it a certain way out there.

And I once played a double header with a broken leg

"Bobo thinks his laig is broke!"

They still talk about Bob Gibson finishing an inning but Bobo Newsom broke his in the 3rd inning and finished the damn game! Ol' Bobo is one of my favourites.

I work 10 or more hours a day and get home around midnight. I truly have no time. Like I said I am big but I'm am pretty fit as far as endurance and what I can physically do. I get limited sometimes by my injuries but grab 15 costco waters and bring them up front. That is a real life workout. Arms then legs.

I wish I hadn't played flag football til I was 40. That shit is giving me all sorts of issues, not least of which that my Achilles tendons are a constant source of fear of snapping. It's not all bad, but I should have stopped playing sooner.

Bro you could have been on my kid’s squad this whole time. We could use a TE.

Thanks for all the replies. I have a doctor appointment to get my labs done and check testosterone next week. Last time, blood pressure was good, so was fasting glucose. I do take a multivitamin, I usually get 5,000 - 8,000 steps a day at work, I only drink on weekends and that is only once or twice a month. I use medical prescription CBD cream on my right ankle and foot (some semi aggravating pain, maybe arthritis), and it seems to work.

DT Jack Youngblood broke his leg. Told them to tape it up & finished the game.
That wouldnt be allowed nowadays.
