I also heard he wasn’t good at SS or C and had never pitched, managed, owned a team or broadcast a single inning. He was probably a terrible groundskeeper and i bet he would have made a horrible investment banker and brain surgeon, too.

Chip Caray pretty well sucked the Mad Hungarian’s dick like 10 times per season. Everyone who has watched Braves baseball over the last 15 years knows very well who the Mad Hungarian is, I’m also pretty well versed in baseball history. I got Pickles Dillhoeffer as an immaculate grid pick the other day

somebody please tell Hammer that a home run is worth more runs than a single. not to mention how much more likely a base runner is to score from 2nd or 3rd base than from first base.

Gwynn is a well deserving HOFer without a doubt but his lack of power was a definite weakness in his game. not that hard of a concept to grasp.

Tony Gwynn was fully capable of hitting for power, but it would have taken away from his average and OBP.

And the dude still hit double-digit homers in like 6 seasons.

He's one of the best hitters of all time.

The Braves are a one trick pony. They hit a bunch of homers. They also have by far the best record in the majors.

Tony Gwynn career total bases: 4259

Barry Bonds career total bases: 5976

And that doesn’t even take into account Bonds having the most walks of all time
