Big Ten Basketball

I didnt even know OSU was ranked 7 haha.

Have they lost since buckeyes fans started sweating if they would even make tourney following Purdue loss?? Great reverse psychology!!

No Fredrick kills Iowa. He is legit. Yet again, god is their D bad.

Biggest thing for me tonight was we gave away so many pts at the ft line . We aren't good enough on D to waste possessions by missing free points. 2 games in a row now that's happened

They have won 7 of their last 8 with wins over Illinois, Wisky, and now Iowa in that run. Their loss is to Purdue again in that run lol

This Iowa team doesn't know how to win. I know there's some talent on the roster, but they sure don't play like a veteran team. Missing a guy like Frederick hurts, but my god, sack up. What's our best win? @Rutgers? Nothing else is very impressive and a couple of these losses really smell.

The whole team should take their covid year and come back next season-maybe playing in front of fans would inspire them.

God damn. I've never seen a team straight up air-ball so many open 3's that the Gophers have tonight. Jesus. Fucking pathetic.

Gabe sucks and Carr is simply not a good PG.

Throw any sort of double team at him and he doesnt even know how to play basketball anymore.

Fuck this team. So bad situationally. All. The. Time.

We aren't making the tournament. Were gonna be 13-12 here real soon.

Ha still don't see that. We will get in but its looking more likely to be an ugly back in.

That last possession by Carr was no hyperbole....the worst thing ive ever seen. He walked the ball up the court like we were tied holding for final shot not down 3. THen he wildly dribbles and takes a 30 foot fade........with 20 seconds left.

The last two possessions were fucking brutal. Burn two timeouts to begin with, Carr takes a step back 18 footer. Air-balls on the next possession. We were so fucking bad down the stretch. Turnovers, burning timeouts. Honestly it's not surprising that's how we played all last year. First close game since the Iowa game. Puckered in the end.

Speaking of Iowa, that game is gonna be what saves the season I think. Lose that and we are currently DOA.

I think if we finish 4-4 which is very likely. That will do it thanks to the wins. Even though 8-11 in league play will look awful.

I'd sign up for 4-4 right now, because that would definitely be enough given how the back end of the bubble looks. Idk how the hell this team beat Michigan and OSU by a combined 35 less than a month ago. Where the fuck did that team go?

Well, for 1....home games.

No idea why it makes such a difference for this team this year but apparently it does.

Which even though our most recent home game was Maryland and a loss...this is why I still think we are fine. Couple gimme home games. And I feel good that we can win 2 of Rutgers/Purdue/Illinois at home too.

This team is REALLY good when they are on. The problem is going to be hopefully they don’t hit one of those games where they just decide to fall flat on their face in the last like 10 minutes of the game.

The plus is that they are one of the best free throw shooting teams in the country. They just gotta stay aggressive and get the opponent in the bonus.

I gotta assume Towns is just a total liability defensively because his mid range game is nice. I also think the unsung hero of the team is Zed Key. A year ago when Wesson was out they had absolutely no one to fill in. His ability to spell Lidell is so huge.

Wisconsin has a brutal finish. 2 vs Illinois 2 vs Iowa and 1 vs Michigan. Could go from Top 10 to out of the Top 25 in a hurry. I have no idea which way they are heading. Perhaps tomorrow's game vs Illinois gives some hope.

I mentioned this during the game on the other site but a wtf moment...

"I just saw the worst call ever. Ahrens was guarding an Iowa player who was in the paint, picked up his dribble and was trying to either find an open man or a way to get the shot up and they called a violation for the defender being "in the cylinder too long" or some shit"

wtf was he supposed to do, let the defender score. I mean it was atrocious, luckily it didn't affect the outcome bc it was close at the time.

I've never seen this call made, anyone know what that was all about?

Yeah, he missed the front end of the one and one thankfully, bc it would have changed some things had he made both. Apparently that ref is under the impression that if you are defending underneath the basket then you must just stop defending.

I looked up some of the rules about defending in the cylinder and couldn't put two and two together why anything was called. He wasn't elbowing him or pushing him, it was very solid defense but I believe a foul wasn't called, it was a violation of some sort. I was so confused bc I've never witnessed a call like that made before.
