Cherry Tomato plants still producing but have slowed.

What I'm wondering is why did the pre-emergent layer not stop the tomato seeds from sprouting when it won't let weed seeds thru.
Have one Volunteer that is 2 feet tall now, and bushy.
All the other ones are anywhere between 8" and 18"

They're all 4 feet tall now with hundreds of green/getting red little tomato's

They are all so big and heavy, they are falling over laying on the ground, bending down to the ground over the top of the cages.

I have one that is getting ready to produce that's different from the others. It puts on a small tomato, but more like the size of a small plum, and have a good taste.
Didn't plant anything this year with all of these volunteer tomatoes

Garden went south this summer. Only thing that produced well was bell peppers.
Cukes have gone nuts. Made relish for the first time to try and use up some of them.
Tomatoes are still going strong. Jalapenos are stubby this year, though.

I've canned two gallons of pasta sauce. Will likely be following suit with salsa this weekend.

Don't do peppers but my cucs are doing extremely well also. 2 plants have produced over 30 so far between them.
Tomatoes just starting to turn red but doing well as well.
Since the high temps aren't 100 any more, my plants are putting off shit tons of tomatoes.

I ended up with 9 tomato plants from the tomato seeds I grew from the tomatoes from last year. I overwintered in my garage with a grow light.
Been getting cherry tomatoes for about 3 weeks now.
I did transplant these into a 3.5 gallon pots a couple of months ago, and are about 3 feet tall now.
I just put them in the ground today, and they were root bound.
So, if they survive the transplant, I will have more than a month head start on the season.
