Do the White Sox win 50 games this season?

they have one player with an OPS+ above 100 (Tommy Pham at 101, and he was traded), unless you count Moncada's 44 plate appearances. I've never seen such a worthless group of position players. EIGHTEEN players with a negative WAR, and still not a single player even has 1 WAR. their pitching sucks, but not quite in a historically bad context and I think a fair amount of it stems more from historically bad defensive play than anything else.

even Crochet hasn't been very good since the ASB (though a lot of the damage to his ERA came from one really bad start), and they seem to be limiting his workload down the stretch. he looked fine in his last 4 starts, but he didn't throw over 60 pitches in either and didn't go past the 4th.

So...World Champions, 2031???

They’ve already tied the record for most losses by relievers in a season at 42. They’re gonna blow by that and it might not be broken for a while

So far, they’re making last year’s A’s look like the 98 Yankees.

Their only good position player can’t stay on the field, and their only pitcher has a track record that says it won’t last.

Personally, I hope they give the 62 Mets a run for their money. There hasn’t been a team really give them a run since the 03 Tigers
If they go 19-11 the rest of the way ... they can do it!!!

The White Sox finish the season in Detroit. Watch the Tigers blow it to help the Sox avoid the futility record.

Best I can tell, they have the record for most losses before September and still have 3 games to go

31 games left. They’d have to go 19-12 to reach 50 wins

They finish with Texas, then have series with NYM, Baltimore, Cleveland, and San Diego which they'll most likely lose those. they have series with the A's Tigers, and Angles, so they may get a few wins, but I doubt enough.

50 wins is out of the question. They’re on a 37 win pace. They’d improve their winning percentage if they tied the 62 Mets in losses

If they stay at their current pace and win 37 games, 3 teams won at least 37 games during the 60 game 2020 season

105 losses before September

6-44 in their last 50 games

They tied their franchise record for losses in a season, and they did it before September

Swept at home by the Mets is suicide level bad

4-37 since the ASB

sub-.100

How bad are the White Sox?

There are 5 teams in the AL Central. Four of them are above .500.....

Yet, the combined won-loss records of all five teams leaves the division 38 games under .500.

I think the 62 Mets are in trouble
